Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Matt, try ordering the yak tracks on line. Might have better luck and you don't have to drive all over.
Looking forward to warmer weather, but not the rain and the mud to follow. And then the icing over.
Going on a road trip with my daughter and granddaughter, Zoe. Zoe has a cheer competition in Columbus, OH. It's going to be a long weekend. But I love seeing the two and half minutes of the team's routine. Well, at least they compete twice so I get to see 5 minutes! Drive 4 1/2 hours to see my granddaughter for 5 minutes of competition. But, really, it's awesome to see what these girls do. And they work so hard to get all their tricks perfect. Just wish we didn't have to drive so far. It gets really expensive for the parenAts. Travel time, gas, hotel rooms. A lot of times they have to take a day off of work, also. And their other daughter is in gymnastics, so the same thing with her. There's usually more competitions in MI for them, but with the Nassar scandal, they haven't been invited to many MI events. 1 so far. It's like the girls are being punished instead of the gymnastics board rallying for them. They are the victims.  It makes me so mad!!
Well, enough of my ranting. Have a good week end everyone.

What a gorgeous day! I'm actually being productive today. Cleaned the bathroom, washed the dishes, and doing laundry. Pet dishes have been washed and sanitized.

Going out now to gather eggs and give the hens a treat. Wilted salad and crushed egg shells. Yum. That means a trek through ice and liquid mud.

Columbus is a great town. I worked there for a year and had fun. (Watch the drivers on the freeway...1 in 3 will be picking his nose.)

Well I didn't do anything for a chicken run today but I did a bunch of housekeeping chores inside and even managed to sort of organize the garage. I still have to sort out where the machines and tool boxes will go. But it's a start. After such a long wait, eh?

Slow weekend here. Is everyone hunkered down in storm bunkers?
Winds have hit 50 mph here today. Took part of my garage roof off. Also blew open the coop door. Two hens were outside and freaking out. Got them back inside and they calmed right down. It was kind of funny.
I repaired the door and added another closure hook. No matter how secure your coop is. a high wind storm does its own thing.

Stay safe, my friends.

Hey gang,
Looks like we survived the worst of it. One of my small pines snapped off mid way and was in my drive way. (small enough I just pulled it out of the way). The outside run for the second coop (currently unused) was leaning pretty good, I braced it and hope it holds.
We have a lot of standing water (frozen thank goodness) and I see I have a bunch of work to do to get rid of some low spots. I talked to my hubby about moving the main coop as it's kinda in one of those low spots. I want to make a Permanent, covered run for the girls as well.

I'm happy for you too Raz, it's got to be refreshing to go outside and not have to worry about the citynazi watching your every move... The garage is looking great! (Hope the roof repairs are an easy fix)!

We're hoping to build a small garage ourselves this year.

well, off to the races........... ya'll have a good day!

Took part of my garage roof off.
OhCRAP!!!
How much and where?
Maybe because of lack of siding wind got in and under roof decking?
You sure had much higher sustained winds yesterday...and still going today.

Ours went up and down, highest gusts were about 45mph.

Yeah, I'm a weather geek .

Had a few power blips, but it stayed on.
Tarp blew off partially completed hoop, have had broken zipties before but this was most of them so I clipped the last few and hauled it into the garage. Luckily that was during a lower wind time and was pretty easy to do.
This is from a couple year ago...it be naked now.
Anyone want to buy the hoop as is(sans tarp) and the trailer too?
