Hm. Well, I wasn't thinking UFO, hoping it was just a stray leonid that perhaps exploded and fizzled but it was REALLY awesome whatever it was. I've never heard of this Coast to Coast thing so looked it up and the first thing I see on the website is a picture of a serama chick. In 24-25 years, you will be at the top, and then it'll be down from there. LOL. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! It was a great day that all whoever ordered for me. lol But had to work last night at 6:30 to 10:30, then go back to the other farm to work at 2:00 am to 7:20 am., So was quite tired this morning.

Had apple pie as my birthday cake. I like pies.

Well, I am not married, so don't have any kids to be pranking, but I do want to get married some time soon since that I have a steady job now, and have a passel of kids to prank. But first thing is to find a nice girl to fall head over heels.

I just finished a good read if anyone is looking for one. "Enslaved by Ducks" by Bob Tarte. A Michigan man from Howell and the menagerie they live with. I kept thinking if I substituted "chicken" for "duck" throughout the book it could have fit some things that happen around here.
Good luck to everyone hunting tomorrow. My guys are headed out and I have the riffle at the back window just in case a big buck wanders through. Most of my day will be spent preparing for the chili cook off. My son is very proud of his and it is definitely different, including ingredients like cinnamon, honey, and cocoa powder.

I've also read this book. I loved it and it made it even more fun to recognize all the mid-Michigan references.

Thanks for the blue orp lead. Well I now have five more chickens 3 jersey giants and 2 golden comets my son could not take care of them anymore so I took them coop and all moved everything here. Beautiful day today.

Thought I would share how I spent my Friday night: bathing chickens - Dragon (short for Snapdragon) and Ivy. Thank goodness I already have a husband who can't be scared off... I am amazed by how much they both love the blow dryer! I think between the Sevin, Ivermectin and two baths, the mites are gone. I will probably dust their fresh bedding with Sevin one more time before adding them to our other chickens in the main coop. I do NOT want any mites in our coop, but I can't leave them in their rubbermaid tote home while we are gone for Thanksgiving.

Loaded thirty bales of hay into the barn today. Just in time! My sheep are hungry. They're still on the pasture but I'm not sure what they're eating out there because it looks done to me. They only eat half of what old hay I've been giving them on account of the fact it's mostly straw. It was left here by the previous homeowners and I'm sure it wasn't good stuff. They'll be eating much better from now on. A load off my mind. Then the neighbor who delivered it needed a jump at the end of our driveway. He rolled his old tractor down the ramp,hoping it would turn over on the way down (our barn ramp leads directly down the driveway which goes downhill to the road) but it didn't. My husband gave him a jump and he was on his way. Anyway, lovely day. Looks like the next week is going to be nice too. I'm hoping to get some new woven wire fencing up on the pasture while it's still warm. The smallest sheep (Twill) still fits through the old stuff and I'm tired of the snow fencing patch. It's ugly and frankly, I would like to have it available as actual snow fencing when the time comes.

How did you do it? Did you add salt?

I believe I added a tsp of sugar for 4eggs, you can use either salt or sugar, beat the eggs up with a fork, just enough to mix white and yolk together, I used sugar because I planed to use in bake goods
