Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi Yochickiemomma2, is he looking for laying pullets or started pullets? We happen to have 14 of 6 week old Delaware pullets if he is interested. We live near Lansing.
Thank Candy. He just texted me and said he picked up some chicks over the weekend. If he changes his mind and wants more I'll let you know. We live hours from each other so I'm just trying to help him the best I can.

oh boy, I woke up to a problem.. the poor little chicks.. Their water leaked out of the jar somehow and their bedding was completely soaked, a couple of them looked like dead drowned rats. I changed the bedding and got everything dried. Took the two barely alive chicks and sat and held them under the blow dryer... they perked up after a bit. One was the chick with the bad leg (thanks for the link aart, just couldn't open it for some reason). They were dry, chirping and back on their feet before I left so I hope they make it.

Last night I'm sitting in my dining room and I see my chickens all run to one side of the yard........ followed by a fox. I am down to 6 hens and a roo, I started with 23 hens at the start of winter and only lost 1 to cold and 1 to water belly, the rest have been fox food. I did get a go at him but he ran to an area where I couldn't follow it, nor shoot due to houses behind him.

Morning, Michigan! I am new to the site. I am originally from the top of the mitt but am now a thumb resident Had chickens about a decade ago but life changed and chickens were no more. I am starting again and excited. 10 chicks...4 RI Reds, 3 Black links, 2 Brahma and a leghorn that must have been mixed in with the Brahmas lol. We also have 2 pekin ducklings and a Khaki Campbell. All are about 4 weeks. Hoping to have the coop and run done in the next week or two for now, just loving the fun of baby birds again!
