Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Anyone else here on Raverly? Did you see the new header on their post? I have deleted my account. I don't think a knitting site needs to ban only trump supporters. I don't think that is a fair approach to anyone. Ban all political conversations and content, don't pick just one side to pick on.
Not in years.
Agrees!
Will have to ask a buddy who may still participate.
My account still works.
The way that is worded is...SMH...they shouldn't mention that mans name,
or any other politician, but speaking against White Supremacy is OK with me.

I wasn't even home to enjoy my birds last week, worked in Ann Arbor Monday and Tuesday, Tuesday night flew to Toronto, visited a new building and our old location, flew out Wednesday night to Minnesota, visited the old location and the new building, flew out Thursday night to Schaumberg IL to visit the new location and the old one....... Flew home Friday night...I was pretty tired. I have 4 locations under my belt now, and 3 are undergoing relocations and site rebuilds - all to be done by October... this is going to be one busy summer!

Curious - who takes care of the chickens when you travel? Probably everyone else knows but I'm not totally up on everyone on the thread. I try to keep up w/reading it but have missed a lot from the older posts.

It looks like I'm going to be the new "closer" at the gas station. The owner called me today to set the schedule for next month. I asked for my b-day and either the day before or the day after. Plus a day for a car show. The schedule should be out in a day or so. I'm actually getting used to closing. I just need to get an automated pop door.

Tonight I got home and went to lock up the coop. Several of the littles were outside and huddled in a corner of the fence. Got them all in the coop and locked up safe and sound.

Not long after, the dogs started raising a ruckus. Let them out to see what was around. I was thinking raccoon or weasel. I went out with the spot light and found some eyes at the back of the house. At first I thought it was the fox. But with 2 dogs going crazy, the damn thing stood it's ground. I got about 50 feet closer and it was a coyote. A big, bold coyote. Looks like I better get a hot wire around the coop too.

PS. It took 45 minutes to get this written and posted. Distractions of living in the woods.

So busy I just shot through the pages...my take on anyone posting political crap or calling anyone a WS is a total waste of time. Peoples minds are usually made up already anyway. Drama is also no fun. Those wood chips though...great find! I just downed 25 trees here and fed 3/4 of that through a massive diesel chipper that eats whole trees. I kept the large diameter maple for making maple syrup next year. I ended up with a chip pile just smaller than a tractor trailer...now if it would dry out I can start splitting. Have a productive day, or not...wine is a good alternative.

Had a semi productive night - I was going to go mow at my moms but decided to work on my own yard first..I rigged a pallet with some cement blocks behind the UTV, and dragged out the dirt from the excavators work. It worked pretty good. The dirt is too soft in some areas so I have to hand rake out some of it. I want to get some grass seeds going with the pending rain next week.

The garage finally has walls and the trusses were delivered yesterday! The builder has been very much the opposite of the cement guy and I would recommend him any day. He's working with the roofer for us to coordinate everything. Seems like a decent guy. Trusses and roof are going on next week. Hopefully before the rain hits. DH added a couple sun roofs to the attic where my art studio will be, I'll also have a patio door on one end and a window on the other end.

The cement guy, (what a piece of work:rant), gave us a quote with no terms (ex: not to exceed or costs could exceed, etc) outside of what was outlined in the quote. We asked several times for a contract..... never got it. So the other day, out of the blue, he said I forgot to add the cost of the cement approach to the other garage. It was included in the original quote and we think he's going to try and hold us "hostage" for more money.. his mistake is......... we haven't paid him in full yet. We paid for the cement and excavators (included in the quote) directly, but not his labor. So I told DH, we should just subtract the amount we owe him that he wants to charge us extra for the new quote and send him on his way. We already have another flat work guy lined up who can do the approach. The cement guy has said he was going to stop by for the last 3 nights in a row to come talk to us and he's been a no call, no response to our texts, no show. We stopped wasting our evenings waiting for him. If we're not home, too bad for his dumb luck. People amaze me. :idunno

:thumbsup Have fun Taj with the cherry festival..Thanks for stopping by our thread!! I've always lived here but never had the chance to go!
