Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I like the old chair in the pen.

So do I clean the coop before work? Or cut some more fire wood. My car is dirty so maybe the question should be...

Do I clean the coop or the coupe? :lau

Those chairs...SMH...I pulled them out of someones trash 30 some years ago, they were like brand new. Used them off and on over the years, were good for the kids, but they are incredibly uncomfortable(probably why they were tossed). They had rush seats, which I cut off before using them in the run. Finally a good use for them, the chooks find them comfortable and they worked good as a chick hiding place.

I didn't get home from work until 2:30 am this morning. Went out to check the hens and close the coop. All are fine. One of the littles was roosting in the rafters. 8 feet above the floor. Pretty good leap for her.

Good morning All. It's been a little while since I've posted. Its looks like some of you have been through some exciting times since I lasted visited.
:) I recently discovered duck eggs and my digestive system dont get along.:sick
Mary I've had a similar experience with a hen wanting to be broody but couldn't hack it. She ended up breaking a rotten egg and hubby swore something had died in the broody hut. Had to give her a bath and scrub the hut.

Nothing like rotten eggs! That's why I didn't actually break any of mine to see how they looked; candling was enough!
Some years I've had too many broody hens, too often. Not this year! All my older broody hens died, thanks to my dog and the failed fence.
Right now our boiler is dying, and needs to be replaced. $$$!! It's okay that there's no heat, but hot water is intermittent, not so fun.
Mary
