Temps here are close to normal. Last couple of years have been way above normal so we're just not use to it. I so love the cooler days and nights. It's miserable when sweating your butt off doing the littlest things outdoors.
Think a coon grabbed my chicken this morning. Luckily it got away. We have a family of coons in the field. See them at the bird feeders at night. Let my chickens out this morning and the young ones jump the fence and to out into side yard and along the field. Heard the chicken in distress and saw it running across the yard with feather coming off her. Yelled for my husband to get out there and ran to put the damn brace on my leg. Was sure I lost a chicken with all the feathers on the ground. The poor chicken got all her tail feathers pulled out, so don't think it was a hawk. Think coon snuck up behind her and grabbed the tail. Otherwise she's ok. Don't see any wounds. Put them back in the run for now. Gong to have to do something about the coons. While we were camping last weekend, a coon came up on the upper deck and took a poop! Last night it was up here again and knocked down a birdhouse. Told hubby the electric fence needs to be turned on..
Well, enjoy your day, all. Warmer today.
