Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Early PT this morning. Well, they're all pretty early, but this one is the earliest. 7:30 am. Wouldn't be too bad, but the leg hurt all night and couldn't fall asleep. Finally went to the recliner at 3am. Dogs got up at 5. This is the day I will be taking a nap. Oh, wait. I'm taking the therapy dog to the senior home today. Hopefully, I can get a nap in before we go. Going to be a long day..
Don't think we'll see any more warm days. It's pretty frigid out there. Think hubby got everything done for the critters. Run is wrapped. I got the heated water bowls set up. Stay warm, folks.

Hang in there @chickflick .

Got more stuff done in yesterday's relative warmth, ornamental grass is down and hauled to woods, last of the mowing and some weed whacking done
Played with my driveway marker enhancement, not sure it will work but giggles were fun and much needed. Driveway Disco :gig

Was supposed to snow last night but didn't even rain.
Close to freezing tho and the trumpet vine/tree dropped all it's leaves.
Close to 50 today so more tasks on slate, coop fan down and windows cleated shut.

I'm glad that I get the coop wired. I really needed the light and outlet for the waterer. It's 29 degrees right now.
The light was needed tonight. Got home from work around 2:00 am. The coop door was closed (probably from the wind). Six hens were locked outside. Some on the ground by the door and some roosted on top of the 6-foot fence. They were outside long enough to have snow on their backs.
After I opened the door, the ground chickens ran in to the coop. I had to grab the roosted birds and take them in the coop. All are now safe in the coop.

I really need an automated door

Do you have a pop door, or just the big human door? I have hooks that will keep the doors open even in the wind. Love my automated door. But, the string breaks often and is a pain to replace. A handy person could make their own. Think Sam did.

Doesn't that let an awful lot of 'weather' into the coop?
Nope. The coop has an overhang and is pretty sheltered from most of the wind. The rain and snow has to be horizontal to really get in. It is nice and dry inside with about 18 inches of bedding.
