Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Been snowing all day here too, not much accumulation...
...and it sure is pretty, especially because I don't have to go anywhere or do anything.

It was a toasty 11 this am, we have over a foot of snow on the ground with more every few days. Time to get the Arctic Cat out!
As in snow machine? The last sled I owned (actually it was my son's) was when I live in Sault Ste. Siberia. The RR grades were awesome trails. Up there you could ride all the roads into town and to the trails.

It was quite a bit warmer before sunrise. It's bee snowing all day. The ground is white and the mud is beginning to freeze. Still lots of mud under the blanket of white.

I just came in to warm up. Split that red oak that I dragged out of the woods last week. 32 inches from the bottom had an insect colony. Hens got a nice treat of grubs from it.

As soon as my fingers thaw I'll go back out and stack the wood.
Working with fire wood warms you twice.

Little opossum in the coop when I got home tonight (after midnight). Hens were not bothered at all. No eggs were eaten or damaged. Have we reached a level of co-existence? I'd like to think so. Although you may not all agree with me. ;)

Be forewarned, the following photos may be disturbing to some.

I just hope it doesn't pick up rabies then bite or drool on you.
Always wonders if how it gets into your coop will allow less 'friendly' critters in....
....or maybe it will turn out to be your livestock guardian opossum.
