Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

The wind is brutal here today. There are so many trees over 70 feet tall and swaying like saplings. There is a red pine just 5 feet from the north side of the house. It is really dancing today.

Looks like I am in the clear. For now.

I did a bunch of stuff outside today. Crazy wind and all. Chickens spent nearly the whole day out in the run. Silly birds. I did get 8 eggs from 9 hens today. No sign of moult from the older girls.

Today we lost Brad, our first EE bantam rooster. He was a good boy!
I've been keeping the flock inside since that EE bantam pullet was killed last week. Brad rushed past me when I was doing their water this afternoon, and I didn't let anyone else out. 'A bit later, he was dead, with a small/ medium sized gray hawk getting ready to start eating. At least I know who's the culprit now!
Brad was the only 'escape artist' out there, so the rest should be a lot easier to contain, for at least three weeks, hoping that this hawk leaves. :hit

I do have one of his sons, at least.
