Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I have a battery op. blower and can also use the battery in other tools. It works wonderful, we don't have a lot of leaves, we live on a hill so a lot blow away. but we have a HUGE tree in the middle of the run and the blower is great for blowing the leaves off the netting.
I do like to mow my lawn, it has more weeds then grass but I like the cut look and I have a nice sit down mower :)
I have a lg area of winter covered run for the chickens. I keep food and water outside and that gets them out of the coop every day. but I agree they don't like walking in the snow so they stay under the coop and cover when it snows.
Hope every one has a good week, supposed to get up to the 70's 1 or 2 day's.:yesss: get the winter run up and some glads dug up

We're going to be moving the coop up by the house this Saturday. I hope Terri (DeBoer, meteorologist on channel 8) is right about the weather this time! I have a lot to do the take down the run. I'll be starting by flashlight Friday night. Now that I know a bit more about how it all goes together and what works and what doesn't, maybe I can get it back together better.

The chickens aren't going to enjoy the move, but at least they will be rewarded with a lot of fresh grass to play with.

@RaZ...in one of your photos, it appears you have a quite a find in your garage along with the racks you were able to salvage. I would love to hear more about the classic car you have stored:)

I’m getting very excited to get out of the suburbs in the next month! My house sold in 6 days here in Grand Rapids and appears to be heading to closing with no issues. Finally, i can get rid of my lawn recycling can!!! So excited to NOT have to rake leaves to keep the yard looking “tidy” to live up to HOA standards.....however, the Twp is giving me issues where I can put my coop for the ladies...apparently it is not where I just had the concrete pad poured...☹️...all good though, will wait until after inspection and off we go!

Mary, I took your advice and we are basically converting an 8x12 shed into a walk-in coop. It’s being built in sections so it can be assembled right after we get occupancy on the house. Makes life much simpler....

..and she's my only pullet this year, so want her eggs!
Luckily one hen appears to be done molting and is giving me a couple-few a week.
Mine are all moulting at the same time. I don't think we're going to see any eggs til January at this point.
Look at this hot mess. Even her ear lobes are yellow (they're usually white).

My CLB's look much the same about now.
Some of my birds started molting in August, and I have supplemental lights so the one who is done molting is laying again.
