One if my birds ate my pearl earring right out of my ear! What can I do
Isolate her in a crate until she poops it out.
Stud earring?
Tho the pearl may not come out intact, between acids and grit...
...and the stud may not come out either.

Best to put crate right in coop or run so bird is still 'with' the flock.
I like to use a fold-able wire dog crate (24"L x 18"W x 21"H) with smaller mesh(1x2) on bottom of crate under tray.
Then you can put tray underneath crate to better observe droppings without it being stepped in. If smaller mesh is carefully installed, tray can still be used inside crate.

Thank you. Yep a stud. Pulled it right out of my ear while I was cleaning the coop. Most gave looked like a snack!!

Not the first earring steal I've read about.
They like shiny things.
One reason not to let them anywhere near you.
I wear small hoops, it would hurt like heck if they got ahold of one.<shudders>

I was whining yesterday about thinking that my hens had a secret nest...
Well they did and I found it. 32 eggs in a secret stash.

Where was it? You ask?
It was in the coop under a lower roosting board. All I had to do was bend over to see it.
The hens dug a hole in the deep litter under the roost bar. And there were the eggs, hiding in plain sight.

I scrounged another score from work today. Three aluminum frames and a mobile staircase. Frames will make a nice work bench and the ladder reaches the garage attic floor.
