Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

First time reconnected since college? If so I can only imagine conversations you 2 were having.
We kept in touch for a while. Then she moved to Illinois and we talked sporadically. She called me about 15 years ago and I lost the phone number she gave me. We got rid of our land line, and just have cell phones. She had no way to get my number, though she said she looked for me online.

So I googled her name and got her office number. We only talked for a few minutes because she was at work. I told her I was retired, so to call me when it was convenient for her, as her schedule is much more full than mine!

We used to talk for HOURS, so I'm making sure my cell has a nice full charge. :)

Her laugh still sounds the same. :thumbsup

Is there a screen on the outside....can it be removed so you can operate window from the outside?

Nice that is opens from the top, that'll help with any rain infiltration.
You mean the little screen part? It does not open from top if I am not misunderstanding you. It has a latch in the middle and I pull the part up to open or down to close.

However, XH asked me, "What about if it rains? Good question. I guess that I will lean that outside umbrella against the window if it happens. Any suggestions on this?
I leave mine open. The inside is as weatherproof as the outside except the bedding. I have deep bedding, some overhang (9") of the eaves, and lots of ventilation - the bedding doesn't get more than damp even with heavy rain at times through days of lots of rain.

The umbrella seems like a hassle at best. More likely it would direct rain in as much as it diverted rain out unless your eaves are wide enough for rain not to be an issue anyway.

@saysfaa I have no clue as to what eaves are but will look it up. The coop has no hangs towards the ooutside from the roof or no hangings from the roof except the sides but nothing on the front or back. I was wondering how to add like a top of a porch to provide some cover but I have typed on youtube and I guess since I do not have a name for it, I get nothing. but will search about eaves for sure. :thumbsup

I see now.
Hey, I took the hardware cloth half way out and removed the screen from the inside. Of course, I had to get all scratch by the wire but went outside and tried opening and closing the window from the outside. Not too easy but doable. Then put the screws back up inside. I can deal with this, lol Thank you so much!!!! Ya are the best!
