Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It sure was a gorgeous day! We got some wood cut and stacked, and it's nice dry stuff, probably good to burn this year.

I rearranged the run a bit, moving the food shelter to take advantage of the wind break shower curtains I put up yesterday. I'm glad I got the really long heavy duty extension cord. It'll reach, no problem, and the heated waterer is good to go any time the weather demands it.

We got the sheet vinyl up on the run walls today. Not needed yet, but nice to be doing it on such a beautiful day! And I got some weeds out of the yard, and an unwanted volunteer mulberry. They sprout everywhere!
It was peaceful in the flock, removing that one extra cockerel made a difference!

Wow! Pretty active here lately. We processed 30-ish chickens here today and 33 last Saturday. The ones today we are keeping and making chicken burger from it, the ones last Saturday all found homes in other peoples' freezers.
Update on that easter egger cockerel that I posted earlier.View attachment 2890483
he is beautiful!!

I like having the almost-clear polycarbonate panels on the roof of the main part of my run. I am very aware that I will probably have to put some kind of shade cloth up in the spring/summer to keep it from being an oven, even with lots of ventilation.

Not this Wednesday. That's the only day I have something going on this week.

Just throwing this out... the seed pods from the redbud tree are edible!
Did some baking today.
Good ol chocolate chips and then I made some white chocolate chip & cherry cookies.
Think I need a hot cup of coffee, a couple cookies, and then a nap!
