Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

So for the first time ever, we have three chicks, hatcher 12 December, in out brooder in the garage. Usually I'd have them moving to the brooder coop section, with their brooder plate, next week. But it's going to be in the teens at night in January, not attractive, and thinking they need to stay in the garage (50F) for a few more weeks. No mental stimulation for them there, not good either.
Thoughts? Should I add a heat lamp out there for them?

Plate should be fine at 50°.
Did you hatch these in a bator?

I know they are fine in the garage at ambient 50F, it's the coop when it's in the teens this coming month that worries me.
I volunteered to take those chicks hatched at school recently; three out of eleven or twelve eggs. N. Browns from the Freedom Hatchery in Pennsylvania.

First day back at work. I was there early and Team Leader informs me that truck will be an hour late and he forgot to call me to come in later Still I was allowed to work . I stocked shelves for the person who called in before the truck arrived.
When the truck showed up, it was only a half load. Whole thing done in less than 2 hours.
So today's wage was 3 hours.
Gross pay was enough to cover the fuel cost to get to work.
The supply chain issues are apparent for sure. I'm worried about that. I haven't seen so many empty grocery shelves before.

well, here we go again.....my stock from before Thanksgiving that we would have bare shelves is almost gone so I better stock up again...:( Have to have enough vegies, rice, and chicken to feed the dog. and the rest of us. TP also a necessity Will it ever end?
Nursing home is still allowing vac. visitors but no outings please (brother and sister-in-law)
had to cancel our lunchen.
Chickens are doing fine. Lost Grandma, a 13 yr old Delaware, She was the best mother hen I have ever had. :(

Happy New Year !!! here comes the snow and cold

I think I have more rolls of TP than I have canned goods. lol
With my limited budget, I make sure that my critters have food before I stock my pantry. Thank goodness for the pop up food pantries that are around. I missed the last 2 due to car issues but there is one next week that I should be able to hit.
The only problem with them is that a lot of the food provided isn't good for my diabetes. And sometimes the donated food is a year past the expiration date. So some of that goes to the chickens.
I'm not complaining though. It all gets used and is greatly appreciated.

And I always have fresh eggs to eat.
