Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Practically a heat wave here today. 38 degrees. Took the tractor for a ride to the east end of the property looking for deadfall for firewood. Quite the number of trees down. So many were weakened by the damn gypsy moths last year and all this cold blowing wind has toppled them.

It's supposed to put some snow down sometime between Friday and Sunday, up to 2 ' says the radio weather dinks. Anyway, the owner of the house next door has some inspector coming to his house and asked me to let them in. Since I had the tractor out I went ahead and plowed his driveway. The county plows had created quite the snow berm on the driveway. Took a bit of work but the drive is passable. He didn't ask me to plow but it seemed to be the neighborly thing to do.

Managed to get 2 eggs out of 14 hens today. Both were medium-small. Something isn't quite right with my hens or they are on some sort of strike. Maybe a feed change will get them back on track. I have to get more feed tomorrow anyway.

ETA: I forgot to mention that while in the woods I moved a dead branch and caused several mosquitos to take wing. Mosquitos in February???

Not surprising to see insects emerge during a thaw, but there are many insects that look like mosquitoes but are not....tho I slap at them all, because, ya know.

I was gonna salt the ice on the driveway, but it was mostly slush in 45°
Now it's about gone, who now what the next few days will drop onto the ground bfore the temps plummet.

Hi Lovelies! Thank you so much for the well wishes and prayers. I am feeling better today. However, my BP was 152/94 and I was sitting most of the morning while my friend colored my gray hair, lol I am not gonna worry no more. I decided that if God calls my number, then I go. Not going to worry.

Girls are fine. no blood anymore. No toes ahd been injured or anything. It remains a mystery I guess. I will keep them on Corrid for 5 days just because I started it and I had to drive under snowing conditions to get it, so they need to drink it,lol
Funny, Hub yesterday evening took care of them and today noticed that he put feed on the oyster shell and gritt holder, lol No biggie.
However, I was able to get the pictures and it is mainly of what I found on the floor unter the steps. Of course, there were splatters on the walls too. The only ones I am sure I lost were the 2 that I took with left hand while holding it on right hand and trying to show as much as possible.

We were seeing mosquitoes or their twins in the house in December.
