Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well, I have to be honest. I have not taken my BP since Friday. It has been up for sure because I have felt my own heart beats at times. But anyways, it has been the most hiddeous birthday I have ever had. Mostly in bed and the few times out, the wind is fearce out there. Probaly good snow coming from tonight until Wednesday. Went to bed at 7pm but by midnight, I was up. Stayed up until 9am and then went to bed until afternoon. Cooked and let the girls out for a bit until I heard screechig noises and got scared and got them all back in. I am trying to learn the noises around so I can know what kind of air predators I might have. They like to come out and get my back porch pooped.

Then all day yesterday a young dove desided to hang out all day in my front yard. Not happy about it. She left when I pulled out and then whenI got back she was againg in front of the yard. She must have found something really good to eat there but I am scared of another predator to come for the dove and find my chickens.

Only got 5 eggs today out of 11 hens. Made them a corn muffin for their birthday. Next month will make another for the Sebrights birthday, lol No sugar just corn flour and milk. They also had a bit of leftover shrimp from Red Lobster. No lobster leftover, lol

Can't wait for the wind to stop. I can deal with the snow but the wind is too much when it is more than 20mph.

Since I moved to this place I haven't had any doves. Until the last few weeks. There has been a decent size flock nearly every day. I'm very happy about that. I enjoy seeing the variety of birds that visit here. Since my local Meijer is now carrying real beef suet I have been putting that out. Not only are the woodpeckers hitting it hard, there are lots of other song birds eating it. I suppose they need/want the fat for the upcoming breeding season.

I guess I have gotten used to the near constant winds here. So much so that any breeze less than 5-10 mph is a calm day.

Happy Hour begins at 2:22pm today. It is 02/22/2022. Maybe try for 22 beers?
:gig :th:sick
