I've seen that often. And blue jays will too. The chickens run for cover when a blue jay puts out the warning call. It's pretty cool to see them chase the hawk from tree to tree and finally the hawk gives up and flies off into the horizon.

My Brother said to attract crows for hunting, all you have to do is put up one of those hawk decoys like the plastic ones you buy to keep critters away.

Woke up to everything covered in ice. Porch and steps are fully sheeted in the stuff. Made the walk to the coop a bit sketchy. I need to put out some more suet but I'm going to wait for some of the ice to melt or break up. I hate to make the woodpeckers wait but I don't want to fall on the icy slope.

I hope it gets warm soon. I have roses and fruit trees that need to be planted.
