Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Do you mean wet their food, so it's like a mash? I do that with all the dusty stuff that falls to the bottom of the feed bowl. I dump it into a special container, and use that stuff when I make their mash snack. Very little feed gets wasted here.

Mine LOVE mash snack, by the way. You'd think I'd made them something really special. It's also a way to get them some electrolytes when it's really hot or cold. Sprinkle that powder on, mix in the water, and I know everyone will get some.
Great idea! But I just put some warm water in the pellets and become mash too. They do not mind that stuff. Wyndottes prefer pellets and not mash, dah!

If every possible opening is covered in 1/2" hardware cloth, you "should" be able to keep rodents out. I know they do tunnel, but I don't know how eager they'd be to tunnel into a coop/run.

As far as I know, only one mouse ever went into my run. It was a small one, not full grown. It was out in the grass near the run, and I tried to shoo it away. It went into the run instead of away. Poor thing was in pieces within seconds.
It is all covered in 1/2 hardwarecloth but the moles had made tunnels towards the inside. So between the chickens trying to get to china underground and the moles, the run looks like a battlefield, lol

How do I save the MI thread? Do I just bookmark it?
I find it easier to go to forums- find threads - threads with your posts

I use watched threads for threads that aren't used much because the "threads with your posts" is in order of most recent posts.

Sometimes the notifications get glitchy. I haven't had an e-mail alert for several days. I manually went to our thread and found that I was several pages behind. Once I did, several alerts popped in my mailbox. Second time that has happened in the past few weeks.
Gotta love 'puters.

Saw my first hummingbird yesterday then again today. Bird watching season is finally here. Orioles have been spotted by neighbors but I haven't seen any here yet. Might be that the squirrels have been eating my oranges and grape jelly.

I only got a couple of eggs today out of 14 hens. When I closed up the coop, I was missing 2 hens. I wonder if they have a hidden nest somewhere. A couple of the girls have been sitting for long periods of time during the day. I'll have to do some more scouting tomorrow. I hope they aren't sitting under the porch.
