Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I think it's maybe more for city folks who don't have fields, but a lot of people even in the country mow huge swaths of lawn. Probably mostly people who move there from the city. I have neighbors who mow acres right down to 2 in on a weekly basis.

We have new neighbors! At least 5 kits. I hope they stay close and keep the woodchucks, voles, squirrels, and such at least down to reasonable numbers.
:( they have been evicted. I saw the neighbor who owns the shed putting a hardware cloth skirt around the shed. No sign of the foxes. I hope their mother moved them. I can understand not wanting the mess the foxes leave but I still hope they moved but not far.

We are eating the first of the garden produce - dandelion salad!

For the first few years we lived here, I'd buy daffodil bulbs when they went on sale at Meijer. They have spread and filled in and we have hundreds, if not thousands out front now.

Did you know that they will make seeds and self propagate that way? We have some daffs where I never planted (or would have planted) them. I'm guessing birds ate the seeds and pooped them out in the woods...?

You won't see daffodil seeds for sale. It can take 7 (!) years for the bulb to grow big enough to flower.
