How long would the new chicks go under mom? They are pretty big and she still manages to sit on them,lol

As long as they fit and she doesn't mind. My hens usually will keep them with her for ten weeks, which if I allow them to, they will then lay eggs for another set and do a second hatch for the year.

Well, found that Baby Mama and her Pitbull have been digging the eggs,lol Good thing I checked. She is not broody and Lil Mama has her wings full with four for now,lol

Does anyone have a roo they need to rehome within the next few weeks? I miss hearing the roo crow in the mornings or when he heard a car pull in. I also miss having a protector on the flock, he was call all his girls in when he saw a hawk and they would hide in the coop while he stood watch. I don’t NEED a roo… I don’t need fertile eggs… I just want one… we are moving in hopefully within the next few weeks to the new place. It’s got a nice big barn and a chicken coop and they even left an automatic door and it’s just so nice!! I will be adding more ventilation to the coop need to clean it and do some more work on it. Anyone have suggestions for what I should do to improve it? Thanks
