I have come to HATE long road trips. And I didn't do any of the driving.

I would want to do some driving.

I like long road trips, and do all the driving. It's about exploring, stopping just because, and not having any deadlines. Wonderful!
After several years of missing out, hoping to do at least a shorter trip this fall.

I hate planes too. Got on them after 9-11 because I had no other choice in 2015. Then I had to every year until 2019. I drive to Florida all the time, over 1400 miles. Love stopping at the Corvette museum; nothing like a chevy!, Ft Campbell, Nashville, the mountains between Tennessee and Georgia. Now Georgia is the hardest. Cops stop you for any reason,lol.

So tired this morning that only went to put water for the quackies. Going back to bed. If I cannot sleep, then will get up and go to pick up some papers and back home. All the animals can use some outside time! I can use a do nothing time too.
Finished my legal papers and drove back to Muskegon to put them in the mail. My PO only opens in the morning. Small village,lol Now the rest is up to God. Hope His angels open the papers and solve the problem!

If I thought that I would get cordless power tools as a gift I might get married again.

I used to like driving. Drove around most of the country. In cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Now would rather stay close to home. I loved to fly. Anything from small prop jobs to jumbo jets. Since I am on the "list", I don't fly any more. Too much hassle.

I finally got the squirrel to take peanuts from my hand. He is still wary but will approach when I call and coax him in. Little guy has a twisted fore leg. Looks like a break that healed crooked. Or it might have been a congenital defect. Either way it doesn't slow him down.

Of the 4 ducklings that I still have, 2 of them started quacking. The other 2 are still peeping. The adult ducks have begun laying eggs again. I've candled 8 and they don't seem to be fertile. No matter as I'll be gathering them every day.

The other news here is that my furnace is completely shot and needs to be replaced. And so does the water softener and RO systems. I can rent a water conditioning system on a monthly basis. I'll have to do that ASAP as my water tested high in arsenic. If it ain't one thing or another, eh?

Would the arsenic affect your critters? We had Culligan at the old house. Liked them. Started off with Wolverine but they just kept on wanting to add to the system for more money and nothing helped. Called Culligan and they put a softener in and never had any more problems. Have a water purifier now.
Enjoying the cooler temps. So much more comfortable. Chickens like it better too. Enjoy your day...

Of the 4 ducklings that I still have, 2 of them started quacking. The other 2 are still peeping

"Quacking" you are scaring me,lol Some I can hear a loud quack but others I here a shorter,quiet quack. They say the females are the loud one,lol
These 12 are doing fine. Could not let them out yesterday nor today but surely tomorrow. They love it when I chase them down to the pine tree. Their waddling pool is over there.

Nothing was done in the soon to be duck pen. Had a really badnight and slept in until 9am. Well, got up at 630 am and got the quackies more water. Then I went back to sleep until 9am. Got up, read my Bible, went to make sure they still had feed (they surely can eat,lol) and went to Shelby to the lawyer's office. I asked about a part on my Divorce decree that says that I am entitled to his retirement. He already retired. I called Florida and waiting to see if I can get a lawyer to look into that. He wants to go after my disability, I will go for his retirement. Fingers crossed,lol After thatI stopped at Hart at the Sherrif's office and asked about the problem of neighbor always looking through fence towards my yard as well as for yesterday, they were on top of the back porch with binaculars looking this way. Wsa told that Michigan law is laid out kind of vague in that matter because if they are in their property thay might not be doing wrong. However, they did agreed with me of the odd as to why and that it does raises suspicion as to if they want to do me any harm. I will not let that happen but I better cover all of my bases. I am not one to be going around. I stay home most of the time unless I need to go to do something. I do not visist neighbors or anything like that. THe neighbors I visit on the other street it is because I take them bread and lettuce of goodies for their grandkids and I usually either call or text or just leave by the front entrance.

Just came in from getting them more water and feed and some lettuce and sweet peas the hub brought from Salvation Army where he is kind of working.

Watered the garden. Weird looking lettuces I have now,lol I pick from the outside and they keep growing upwards,lol They are about 18in tall if not more. Will take pictures tomorrow.

I have no clue if this is supposed to be like this. I take from the bottom and leave just 3 or 4 on the top. But they keep going upwards,lol
I did notice one trying to grow flowers. Need to go back and cut it.
Just in since 8am outside. Whole acre mowed. Everyone was outside until now. Just need a good shower to start thinking what to cook.

When lettuce gets mature it "bolts", which means it starts growing upwards and sets seeds. It starts to get bitter when this happens. Might be time to harvest the whole heads before that happens.
Chickens love lettuce even after it bolts.

Apple pie is baking in the oven. It’s a two piece crust, no known author. The filling is not a recorded recipe as I’m still trying it out/perfecting it.
