Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

You're not likely to find many deals on turkeys this year. Between supply chain and feed issues and highly pathogenic avian influenza, turkeys are going to be in short supply. Some of the bigger store chains that have contracts with growers may have more birds.
My favorite Thanksgiving dinner is a steak and lobster, surf and turf. I don't love turkey and I really don't love all the leftovers.

Thank you all for all that information. Just tired today as got home almost at 8pm to put the quackies inside. Hub thought they will go in on their own like the chickens. Makes me wonder what he thinks I do outside every night, maybe good night and I love you? ,lol
Had the longrsmri of my life and they injected me something to put me back in,lol I guess some ink to see my brain. Hope they find some. Yesterday I gave a 13lbs turkey away that was given to hub in February. I do not like turkey unless in a hospital bed that I have no choice. At least this year I know where to go in the UP,( wink, wink)

I spent the whole weekend doing outdoor chores. I have a list of chores that need to be done, and I only got one crossed off - everything else was stuff that needed to be done that wasn't on my list :barnie. At this rate I should finish up sometime around Christmas.

My best wishes to Sam :love

The landscape guys came last week to replace a failing retaining wall at the garage entrance, and it's moving fast, but a mess right now. And rain tonight and tomorrow, we'll see how that goes. Meanwhile, any plants I want to save have to be dug up and survive until the wall is done... Interesting times, so far.

Happy Samhain.
After working all weekend I have the day off. Maybe I can get a few chores done. I did get a lot of wood split and stacked yesterday after work. Two nice racks that are shoulder height. It is still fairly green and likely won't be seasoned enough to burn this year. I have all of the seasoned wood in the house now. I've had to have a fire nearly every night for the past couple of weeks. It has been pretty darn cold and I still don't have a furnace.

Blue jays and squirrels are competing for peanuts on the windowsill. It is very entertaining. Then add in a few crows and nuthatches and hilarity ensues. The chickens and ducks wait below for any peanuts to fall. Damn critters eat better than I do.

I sure hope Sam is doing alright. Give him my best.
