Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

We got dumped on pretty hard. At 1:00 break it was just cloudy. At 3:00 quit time there was a good 4-6 inches and high winds. White-out conditions on the 1.5 hour drive home. Normally a 20 - 25 minute commute.
Once home, I had to help a guy driving a Cooper Mini who got stuck on my dirt road. At least I had the tractor out and available. There are still people around that haven't had power for 5 days.

Yeah we got lucky for getting our power back so soon. Town which is 15 minutes from us still doesn’t have power. We’ve had to driver extra far for anything. I was also glad we didn’t get a power outage after this storm today.

Ok, recounting my blessings!
1. The power hasn't gone off
2. The power hasn't even blinked.
3. Repeat #1 and 2.
That’s awesome!!!

Also, this is sort of a random question, but do any of y’all have or know of someone who has either speckled Sussex or mystic maran hatching eggs or chicks they would be willing to sell? I have a friend looking.

It looked dicey for a while yesterday morning, 1/4" of ice, about what we had last week. No issues with the electricity, so good!
Meanwhile, my car has a mystery problem, and so does our boiler. Gremlins at work...
Multiple repair people puzzled, who knows why. Yahoo!
Chickens separated into two groups, hoping for some fertile eggs. nobody's happy about it, they do hate changes. I'd like some Chantie offspring, and some EE bantams too.
Chicks ordered from Cackle later in spring too.

WOW! It's cold! "If your power doesn't come by 10pm find other accommodation " automated reply when calling energy company. 🙄
Was able to get so bottled water for the animals and for me to clean myself but this is too long without power. Have no clue where it is or how to use the generator.
BK is doing good so far. Get coffee inthe morning and a disgusting grease burger at night. This is also where I can get wifi and charge cell.

We lost power around 2 pm yesterday, and it isn't estimated to come on until noon on Wednesday. It really has us talking about making a plan to save for an alternate heat source for such occasions (and to help with the electric and propane bills). If our furnace hadn't died last winter, we probably would have been able to get something before this winter.
