My son’s neighborhood flooded. He took his 2 youngest kids and the cat for a row boat ride thru the yards

We got about 4" of rain. There are some foot deep gullies in our driveway, and part of the (county) road might have a serious washout across it.

The topography of my garden is different now. Most of the garlic seems like it might be ok; I'll see what's going on tomorrow after things dry out a bit.

Our power was out for a couple hours. No biggie.

I didn't have our rain gauge out, so no idea, except it was a LOT of rain! 4" doesn't sound unreasonable at all, given how it came down.
Water everywhere! We are pretty much high and dry, fortunately. Just let the chickens out, now that it's not so windy, and in that soaking rain.
Horses didn't go into their run-in shed, they stood outside, away from trees and the barn, rumps to the wind. Sensible, actually, it certainly wasn't cold for them.

This what I use to see about what the weather did. I use it mostly to see how likely it is that the chickens water froze over night. Also to add up inches of snow or rain or to see just how strong a wind was. And what the barometric pressure did.

I use weatherunderground, then hook up to a local station(owned by friends and just a mile away). I use weather dot com for a 6 hour radar loop.

Yep, I use those too, for current weather and forecast. I couldn't find the past weather section on either although I think at least one of them have one.

The other is just for past weather. It goes back 30 days in 20 minute increments.

Pretty nasty storm here today. I detached the portable chicken tractor (a trampoline with chicken wire all over it) from the bachelor pen and tied it down to the tree before the bad winds hit. We left the horses in just to be safe and to give them a day out of this awful mud we have. There were tornado watch notifications on my phone all day and since a tornado touched down and removed a few roofs of shops in Friday, about 7-8 miles from us I decided to put id tags on everyone, horses, goats and birds( tags or leg bands with my address phone number and name). Glad we didn’t need them so far but I’d rather be safe.

Anyone brave enough to take the tarps down off the runs?
Not quite yet. It's supposed to warm up next week. When it's time, I'll take down some of the west side wind blocks, but not all.

I think I'll be shoveling compost out of the chicken run tomorrow or Friday. Then the coop shavings go into the run, and new shavings into the coop.
