My sister was visiting last weekend so I put her to work and we cleaned both coops out

Too cloudy here.

We drove down to Boyne mountain and went on the Skywalk - pretty scary for someone like me, afraid of heights. The view was beautiful

My rooster is finally getting the hang of a proper crow. Now if I could get these pullets to POL.

I went to the pain clinic yesterday for a set of spinal injections for pain. They did it in the surgical area under a local. Great doctor and staff to take care of me. Since I was awake we had a good time chatting and telling jokes. I got to ask questions and received answers to get me well informed. It might take a couple of days to get to full relief but I woke up this morning with a noticeable lower pain level. I'm actually getting some household chores done. Follow up visit on the 31st and hopefully I can get some relief from the other areas affected by the arthritis.

Still trying to get used to these darn glasses.

Back from GR and had brunch and of course, I hit my bed until 6pm. I spend so much during the night vomiting that I am so tired and sleepy during the day. I did cleaned the coop some. I am dealing with apple cider vinegar on their water because cannot determine who is sick. Too much diarrhea at night and they do not always roost in the same place. I also need to cut the grass for the last time but too much rain is not letting me at all.
Itty-Bitty has begun to dance for the ladies but they pay him no mind since he is a bantam small and they are all big. Most are starting to lay and molt. I think I need to find a way to make another roost in the coop because the second roost is by the inside window and the heater goes there for ventilation.
The garden is a complete mess. Have not been there since I finished with the tomatoes and left it open for the ladies. They have done a lot of work there, lol I am just praying that I can get back to the normal of things. This year has not been too good to my health, lol
25th go to AA for eyes check again. and on the 30th will be the next heart test.

@RaZ you need to be more careful. Glad you are doing better. Maybe next summer I can go for some beers, lol
I want to go to that skywalk. I am not fond of hight but I might be able to handle that. I also want to do the fall drive but not sure if M58 or M22 is better.

Dream, are you sure one of your hens is sick? You said the hens are in your garden. Could be they're eating a lot of your vegetables and just getting loose stools from that. I gave my hens squash and you should see all the loose green stools. So, it just might be from that.

Back from BA. My Jeep has been having issues so I took it to my favourite mechanic. Worst news possible. Head gasket is shot. I was pretty sure that was the problem. Heads are also cracked and possibly the block as well. There is no way that I will put over $3000 into it. It has been a great car but not worth putting any more money into it. Maybe I can find another like it or a truck that isn't too expensive. I did see a used Ranger at the dealer next to the mechanic shop. They were asking $9600 for a 2007 with 158K miles. Holy crap! I can't believe the prices for used vehicles. Or food, gas, and everything else. I don't think I can afford to be retired.

I think I better get on those outside chores. The sun disappeared but it is a pretty mild day. Good for being outside.

I've been super busy with winterizing everything lately. I was able to harvest my sage and basil and got a container each after drying them. I propagated several of my pepper plants, my basil, and my rosemary. I might just dig up the rosemary, tho, and bring it in.

I'm learning how to "store" tomato plants through the winter by cutting them back to a foot, wrapping the roots in a damp rag, wrapping it in saran wrap, and putting the plants in a paper bag out in the garage to be planted again in the spring. It seems like a good challenge for me, but has anyone done this and had luck?

Y'all must've motivated me because I got my butt out to the run and hung that sheeting up. To answer any questions, yes, the grommets go around all the sides. I had to cut mine in a few places, but even with the cut sides not being totally secure to the hardware cloth, I feel pretty good that this will be a great wind block. The material is definitely heavier than a shower curtain and feels even a touch heavier than a tarp. Sturdy is what I'll call it. Easy to cut and won't fray.

I'll be looking around for hay bales after Halloween, I think. I'll need just a couple in the front of my run. I also need to see if those would be better for the chicken's dust bath area (under the old coop) or if I should get more of this material. Still have to cover the coop window, too. Unlike a lot, I do the deep litter method, so I only clean the coop out twice a year: spring and late summer. Right now all those microbes are breaking down and making warmth for my birds. Thanks again for suggesting I stop the DE. Have just been using PDZ and adding more bedding every few days and I have no one with respiratory issues (finally)!

It's supposed to rain the rest of the week and over the weekend. I guess I'll be inside for the next few days setting up my indoor grow room (yeah, NOT weed) and cleaning the house.

That is a crazy price! So sorry about your car troubles
