I'm going to Eaton Rapids next Friday in the morning, do you want to meet sometime then? I can bring those EE pullets if you are still interested.
Tomorrow I'm goin to the Fowl Fest in Chesaning, just to enjoy seeing the birdies. Anyone else going to be there?

Would love to hear a report on Fowl Fest! I wanted to go but had other commitments. How was it?

I wasn't thrilled this year, probably because there were no Chanteclers there. The national meet is in Minnesota, so that's maybe the issue, but I was disappointed.
Many ducks, especially those adorable little call ducks, a fair number of other ducks and geese, and only three turkeys.
Many chickens, especially Silkies, just not the birds I was looking for. And no vendors, at least not when i was there this afternoon.
The facility is nice, but I do miss going to Birch Run!

Yup. Hard freeze expected here. No s-word here, but it's a-coming!

Coop construction update! It’s hard getting stuff done when you have kids and school schedules and a full-time job, but we’re getting there! I now have 4 walls, a floor, and a roof . Windows are going in tomorrow. I plan on getting the girls out by this weekend. Will still have to paint, add the trim and accessories, and build the run, but they have gotten too big for their brooder setup.

I’ll have some chicken wire set up for a temporary run while I build the permanent one.

I would only caution you to not count on chicken wire, even for temporary use. It will leave your birds very vulnerable
