Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Snapped some pictures this weekend of the birds :) We just separated out our showgirls into their own coop away from the silkies and have a blue silkie rooster covering them. This is my daughter, Hannah, and one of our partridge hens :)
Awww! Chicken cuddles!
I love that hen! She would go perfect with my partridge roo!!

Will anyone be bringing mohair to CS? I would like brown, white/cream, black, red... Just a small handfull of each for my crafting.
Let me know how much it would be!
Thanks!

I am obsesed with sausage and saurkraut right now... Mmmmm can't get enough!
Got corned beef, carrots, and potatoes in the crockpot right now for dinner

Cooking in the crock kills me! It smells so good!

Chickens won't touch the fresh snow that we got this morning. They are mad that "I" covered the grass back up

But I got the egg this morning... still hot! I think that is so neat!

I'll have to get a better picture of her...she's sooooo pretty :) I am hoping to have a variety of showgirls at CS since I was able to hatch out/obtain some partridge and blues last year. I have a blue silkie roo over the showgirl hens right now so once we get some eggs coming in to hatch it'll be interesting to see what pops up! :)

I will have to check out what you have at CS... I would really like some more partridge colors... Don't mind if they are NN or not.

I have started a list of everything I would like to come home with from CS... BF is going to kill me...

Greetings and Salutations,
I wanted to let all my brethren around the Millington area that I just met a nice gentleman who sells Chicken supplies on eBay but he will also sell right out of his house. I had saw his auction on eBay and noticed he was located right by me in Millington. I asked him if I could just buy some chick feeders from him direct and save on the shipping cost. He wrote me back very quickly and said that would be fine. I just got back from his house and he has a plethora of brand new chicken supplies in his basement (I have my eye on the Hova Bator Genesis). I will give you his number if you like...just PM me. The following link is to his eBay store: http://stores.ebay.com/rturner092656?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

I'm going to see if I can get him to come to Chicken Stock....Is that alright if he goes there to sell some items?

lol. i think if you have a heat lamp in the coop, to take the edge off, you could move them, they look old enough to me. When I moved mine out last winter, i did put their heat lamp in with them for the rest of the winter. I did also open the coop door so they could see out and start getting used to the idea.
