Enjoy! They grow so fast.

Ditto, Those cockerels tore my hens up till I got rid of them. Now, with only one male left, that does not seem to occur. Must admit though, I have not spent much time in the past two weeks out in the run. Also we just, two days ago, let the roo in with the hens.

good luck, hope they can fix the problem

So where do the UP people hang out?
I'm considering a relocation and that's one of the prime spots on the list.
Was wondering how people are doing with chickens and if there are any towns or areas that aren't very friendly.
I'm planning on having a good sized flock, but nothing commercial.
Just enough to feed my chicken addiction.
Welcome!

,there are some UP people on here and some near the UP, there was a Chicken Stock(gathering of chicken lovers) up that way last yr. and there is one in Lansing schedule
for June 22
I'm finally a chicken owner. I got the call at 11:00pm last night that my chicks were at Flint. I braved the weather and made the 2 hour round trip to pick them up. 2 had passed when I opened the box and 1 more a couple hours later. But I have 44 beautiful and healthy chicks![/QUOTE]
love the baby's I am impressed that the PO called you so late, that was awesome!! what kind did you get??

tried to smoke us out this AM, cleaned out the fire place and didn't notice it was smoking, some fire starter had fallen in, the whole house was full of smoke before I realized what had happened,

If at all possible this morning should be spent drinking coffee and looking out the window. Hope goes every day to take care of her twin grandaughters. With the road conditions today I though it migh be better if took her. The drive normally takes 15 minutes. Today 45. I'm back home and not going anywhere til conditions improve.

Congratulations!!! they are cute

On my second cup now and thankful that I retired last summer. Didn't have to brave the drive to work and I'm enjoying the view out my window. The cardinals look amazing against the snow.

Roads weren't too bad as long as you stayed in the 2 tracks. It should get better as the day progresses.... though wed or thurs we'll have a pretty good temp drop again. Not sure whats worse, snow then ice or ice then snow!

I am not in th UP but I am sure we have a couple people on here who can help you out.

I am going to use our couple days of warmer weather to finish my chicken run. I am more then ready to kick a few chickens out! I had 1 barred rock pullet acting like she could not stand yeserday. I feared Mareks, but after seperating and adding vitamins to her water she is much better this morning. I am hoping it was just a vitamin deficiency.

Juise, that is. Stroke of luck. When is the bonfire? Glad nothin hit your setup..

It is 45° here. Kids got the day off. Not liking that. Must have been bad where the super lives. I could have seen a 2 hour delay, but all day! I am thinking a trip to the library is in order...
