BRIng water to boil. Lower eggs into water boil for 15 minutes. Remove from heat pour water off add cold water and ICE. let stand a few minutes tap each end then gently push down while rolling. Rinse and enjoy. I will take eggs right out of the coop and doo this. Theey will peel just fine !! DON'T make it too difficult.
This is how my daughter does them. We always have her do the eggs because she can perfectly peel any egg, even freshly laid ones.

they were isa browns but whiter in color not normal reddish brown color, hen and rooster, 9 months old, hen laying everyday.. , i will post pics when i get it.. I really feel i got lucky.. normally when i see these ads they are 3 -4 hrs away..how far are you from baycity..
I am about 25 minutes south, not too far but haven't headed up that way in years. We always go to Flint anymore. Very happy for you though :)

I can vouch for that technique. That's the way I was taught and still use it today without a hitch. But I think it's important to note that almost any boiled egg with any technique will peel the easiest fresh out of the water, while it's still saturated. Once you put them in the fridge for another day, they will dry out and be tougher to separate from the shell, pretty much no matter which technique you use. At least, that's been my experience.

I am so excited, i saw a ad on craigslist for free chickens and coop
i wrote the person she just called me back.. Its mine, i go pick it up tuesday..
sounds like the coop is new, and holds 6 chickens
I cant wait to get the chickens, if you go on saginaw craigslist and go under farm and put in chickens it the search, its the ad for free chickens baycity.. its 1 1/2 hrs away but i think its well worth it..
since i am heading that way.. if anyone has any roosters, hens or poultry they need to rehome. and not far from baycity i would be able to help you out.... i think i am starting to get more addicted to poultry.. more then i thought i would.

ps i hope i dont turn into a chicken hoerder..
*cough cough* I'm a little west of Traverse City (which is nowhere near bay city....but is also considered "northern") and have a mutt rooster and a splash wyandotte rooster that I'd like to part with.

fresh out of the water?? wow. i'm almost embarassed to say that I never even thought of that. DH's cholesterol came back high, so we're doing hardboiled eggs (whites only) for him in salads and for snacks. I've got eggs, but no "old" ones right now. Will have to try this peeling while warm thing......

Looking out the window it looks like it might be another day best spent drinking coffee and reading. A quick glance at the Weather Channel icon reading 2 degrees confirms that. Winter should be over in a mere 8 weeks or 56 more days of frozen waterers. Downhill run, right?

I can't wait to see what they do next!
LOTS OF DUST!!!! you might want to try the sand,,, it could be a long time to spring.....The first batch we got was in Feb, we raised them in the dinning room in a large brooder, it didn't get warm enough to put them outside till April,....I didn't know about the sand then, after to mo. they moved to the basement, all that did is give me 2 floors of dust to clean, I hear sand is not dusty and you can clean with a kitty scoop..

THAT WILL BE NICE!!...even the cookie tin and electric water's have frozen up this year.

The snow is SO pretty,,, I just wish it were a little warmer, Got the fire going though and I don't have to work in the cold any more unless I choose to,,
