Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Our tsc & family farm&home have an.assorted bantam bin-they have silkies, white beardless ones...I recomend going to a breeder for silkies! The hatchery ones can be mean especially the roosters, they don't have the typical silkie disposition. I have gotten d'uccle, a couple old english game who were very sweet, and a very mean sebright hen who would fly up and attack my face. Lesson learned and I rehomed most and went and bought from breeders.

Ideal poultry called me today, they are starting to take some of their turkey orders. I put mine in for some royal palms (i'm curious to see what quality they have). Thought i'd pass it on if anyone was interested. I put in aminimum order, and don't mind that they'll toss in packing peanuts. Free aditional members to our classey freezer camp! Besides, they would all be surprizee roos, maybe l'll gat something new and cool to start another flock with.

Do you know who it is in Millington that raises Salmon Favorelles?
It's Fancy Favie. Her name is Dana. I believe I have her phone # if you want, just PM me.

Gosh, from -19 temps to I don't need a coat to go out! Weather is crazy! Hens got in some free range time today. They were in heaven. Been "cooped" up way too long. Sadly, we're headed to colder temps again. Well, it is winter, so need to put my big girl panties on and deal with it.
Good night

Is it really your neighbor pushing this, seems like they are scarred to death to go in your favor for some reason?? to keep moving this out and causing you to come back, and back, and back again, should embarrass them. by now they should know you are not just going to give up and go away, witch I am sure is their hope.

They really are acting like the last part of the word embarrass!
Just for the record, my neighbor no longer has any stake in this process. I bear no ill will towards the people who used to be my friends. I wish them well.
It is the prosecuting attorney that has issues and I believe that he is trying to use the power of his office as an offensive tool.
I was offered a chance to "go away" today, but I declined that offer.
Raz, you're a chicken foster parent now, eh? Good luck with your next steps in your legal fight. What a headache.
Last spring, I was a dumping ground for orphans. I can do it again. I would be proud to do it again.
Raz, you now have a business raising replacement pullets? Oooh, bad boy!

I think that statement helps make my case. Thank you.
Their new home... Had to move the light a bit but they are all snuggled up now :)

Chicks in a fish tank really concerns me. You can cook those peeps in a matter of minutes. I'm not trying to bash you. That is NOT a good brooding pen for chicks.

yup be careful with the aquarian. Also plastic tubs. The heat builds up pretty fast.
I used a large plastic tub and the chicks could only be in it for a couple of days before they had to get a new home.

edited to add: congrats on your new chicks! I luv raising them in the house so you can get to know them.

Another morning is starting with weather dictating what we do. Today is much to wet to do much beyond sit in the house and watch the rain unless you have reached that golden age where you spend a lot of time visiting doctor's offices. Most of this week is taken up with a myriad of specialists for Granny and it is still going to be a long time before she is out of the woods. Today however is my turn. I've got to go to the VA hospital in Ann Arbor for a hearing evaluation. Hopefully Uncle Sam will help with part of the $6000 hearing aids I need.

Anyone wanting to buy bantams should look at Cackle Hatchery. They are the only ones I have found with a wide selection of breeds.

AH! If I had seen this post before 3pm, I could have asked while I was out there. I picked up 4- 1-day old pullets.

They are going to be slipped up under Skatter tonight.
Love the babies, they are so sweet, and it is so much fun to watch a momma hen with her chicks

Ohhh...and I figured out what my rare mystery chicken is that I got from McMurray....it's a Blue Andalusian.

my thoughts also it looks way to hot, and they grow much faster then you think BIG cardboard box or Large, long plastic tote, something so they can get away from the heat if they like

BE READY FOR DUST!!!!!
