Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

No, Gravy (the BLA) has been here for about 2 years now. She is the only bantam in the flock. It is one of the year old ISA bit...witches that gets nasty towards her.

I think that I'll bring in the other big brooder tomorrow for the 4 week Sebrights and add Gravy to see if she is happier. I can keep them separate and watch what happens. I could also put her with the ducklings as they are of similar size and Gravy loved the orphan mallards last year.

Or I can just send those lousy ISAs to freezer camp...

I think moving the bla will change the dynamics for the good.. and your isa should mellow.. if not.. nothing wrong with freezer camp. sounds tasty..

The boy had to have me pose and then took about 50 pictures.

I'm not sure if it is a sign of spring but we had a seagull show up today. Just a bit weird, the roosters didn't like him. I made aprons for a few girls today that were looking a bit rough. I thought I had picked nice colors to blend in ... Until I put them on. I have a couple girls I think I will redo. They were not happy with me. I ended up with 24 eggs! The numbers are coming up now that my lazy Polish have started laying again.

Silkie question. My little chick is almost a month and almost all the feathers are in except crest and neck. Do silkies feathers look silkied at the beginning when they grow in or do they grow in just looking regular? This chick looks pure silkie but the feathers coming in look normal, so I have no clue at this point.

The last silkies I raised, seemed like the wing feathers came first and looked like tattered regular feathers, the rest stayed fuzzieish for the most part.

I believe you have to jump around a pine tree while nekkid. There may be some sort of weed and alcoholic beverage involved. It's some sort of Druid thang.

I think you have to DANCE like a fairy, unless the jumping is to wake up the earth ??

Went to a delightful shop in Fenton Mi, yesterday Heavenly Scent Herb Farm, full of fairy gardens, and things to fill them with, including a LARGE selection of succulents Would love to get back in the summer the out side was beautiful even covered with snow, I hear they have weddings in the gardens. If you ever get out that way it is worth taking a few hours to look around.

Spent most of yesterday in Allendale (GVSU) at the 2nd FRC competition. Teams from all over the state yesterday, Marshall, Saline, Romulus, Holland, Charlevoix... good to see. My son's team made it to the finals and won a GM engineering award! Not sure if they'll be going to state yet, depends on the team's ranking among all the teams in the state. They need to be higher that 64th. I just wanted to say that there's more positive energy at a high school robotics tournament than at ANY sports event EVER, at least that I've ever been to. That's refreshing. But I did come home with a massive headache on account of the fact we sat right in front of the loudspeaker.

Spring can get here anytime.

Today is day 20.. i am going to unknott my panties.. and ignore the bator.. i have been reading alot of post on this and everyone goes thru the same.. no sense in worrying when it may be to early.. we did see movement in some of eggs last week when we candled.., so i am staying optimistic that we are going to get atleast a chick.. i think if there is sound that starts to come from the bator, my animals will start getting curious.. and that is when i will start paying attention. and if i dont get any to hatch.. i still have my 6 chicks.. and will throw more eggs in the bator and try again.. what do i have to lose.

If I did that with this old body, I would scare Spring into the year 2015 LOL
