Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I acquired some peacocks this week........... anyone know enough about them to tell me what I got? The only one I know for sure is the India blue male with the fancy feathers... the rest I think are either hens or juvenile male birds, and I'm guessing mutts, but any idea on the type or sex would be helpful!

Uggo asks....... I look good, no?
Don't worry, I took it off her..... a friend was joking that I should knit her a neck warmer so I cut up an old glove and slipped the finger over her neck.

Ike and Star

Casanova has gotten big! Almost have his house finished, hopefully he'll be going outside next weekend when it warms up!

Just don't over cook it........ I could have resoled my shoes with the way my mom cooked it....

I read the article............ really, where isn't there salmonella? Its a poop bug,,, and where isn't there poop? Wash your hands people! LOL!

I think the spring dance is like "ring around the rosie"... and pretty sure it requires children & laughter!!

Here is a picture of one of my silkie chicks at 6 weeks.

Pretty little puff ball. Like a giant dandelion puff. LOL

I told DH last night that "I won I won!!"

... and he rolled his eyes at me and huffed. **sigh** He did tell me that he doesn't care how many eggs I hatch or what chickens I acquire, so long as it does't require him working/expanding the coop & run. Again. I think this DW is going to be doing modifications by herself t
I have lots to do outside today. DH is already out there doing wood and I should get a lot of my own things done. Coop... goats... and I want to start clearing out my little flower area that has tiger lilys and irises. Trying to figure out what I'm making for dinner tonight. I think it's going to be Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf.

Want to see my minions and chicks? My chicks are getting so big!!!!

I believe you have to jump around a pine tree while nekkid. There may be some sort of weed and alcoholic beverage involved. It's some sort of Druid thang.

Yeah I could so totally go Druid and do the nekkid, weed, and beverage thing.
Jumping around would be a bit hard on knee booboo. Perhaps Chickflick and Dickers would come over and do that part for me :)!

Well my silkie with perfect feet, knobby head and cheek puffs isn't the perfect silkie because the feathers are wrong.

I'll get pictures tomorrow.

Spring isn't just a dream,

I saw my first Robins of the year. Poor little things, there is no bare ground for them yet. I hope they survive ok.

What causes all the boys to gang up on a hen? I put her in the small coop so they would leave her alone and even my dumb little roosters that have shown no interest in girls were after her. She ended up with an injured comb so she is caged for the night. Tomorrow it may be rooster in the cage.

Ummm, I don't think Dickers would go for that. Jumping aint' his thing.

I'm game, tho. Who wants to join me?

Being foster mom to 6 chicks. 3 leghorns and 3 Golden Laced Wyandottes. Going to new home on Thursday. Gives me a chance to enjoy some chicks. Cute lil buggers.

Haven't seen the sun they keep promising. Just feels so bitter cold. Hope it warms up soon.

Have a good night, all..............

That grinning little girl is a daredevil! Don't let her cuteness fool you!!!!!! She had a huge bruise on her cheek for almost a week and a half because she got herself twice in one spot. Then she was messing with a door (heaven forbid I use the potty without a kid) and pinched her finger. She needed 3 stitches! *sighs* Sadly she is just like her Mama. I was into everything when I was little and the neighbor use to swear I was abused. I wasn't. I just took advantage of Mama being distracted.

We do not charge rent. She helps me around the house and watches the kids once a week so I can get a date with AJ. AJ is actually afraid to push her out now because I am so sick all the time. Even on Zofran (she does not know I am pregnant yet), We are waiting for an ultrasound to confirm a due date and to make sure baby is fine... They will be done at my appt on Wed. So maybe the first week April we will see it. Although I should be far enough along where a doppler can pick up a heart beat.

Also since I do not think she will leave soon, I have decided to move stuff down to that shed since there is still room. Aww... sorry, but I can store stuff there too!

Oh, and AJ (My SO) decided as long as it does not hurt the structure of the shed, I can put a chicken door in the back and screen in 1/3 of it (put in a door so I can get in too) and it can double as storage for kids toys and a coop. Yeah! Now the issue is, there is a tree in the middle of the area where their run will be. Shall be interesting working things around it. Although with me being ill, it will be a bit easier than building a coop. Also the chickens are about to move to the garage. I have their next living quarters finished not that my friend is out of the garage. I find it funny that he agreed to let me modify part of the shed though. He was so against it 2 months ago. I will need to cover the walls with plywood, or in the lower part since there are some gaps. I may leave the upper ones for ventilation.
