Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

.Some mornings start off unexpectedly. As is common I was awake before 4am. As I sat drinking my coffee I worked 3 crossword puzzles and tried to decide if I should read a book or go back to sleep. Each time I stood to go replenish my coffee cup I thought I could detect a faint odor of burning plastic. Each time I stood the smell seemed to be getting stronger. Finally I convinced myself that I needed to find the source. Fortunately locating it went quickly and I found that a dimmer wall switch had malfunctioned. Not only was the device melting the wire supplying power was melting as well. Had I not discovered it it would have undoubtedly led to a house fire.

Now the plug is removed and the danger is passed and when Home Depot opens I will go and get a replacement switch. Some times it pays to wake up early.

I have 6 to get rid of. I've lowered my price on Craigslist to $400 for all..... I'd be happy to lower it more for someone on here! PM me if you're interested! I had two people interested on craigs list..... one went "poof" when I said this was a cash sale..... the other, all talk as well. I hate selling on CL.

I hope to be relieved of the Peas on Saturday!

........ Sunday........ don't know.......... anyone seen the movie Oblivion?

If the potential buyer falls thru, I would still be interested in replacing one of my peahens that I lost this winter. I just don't have the space to add additional peacocks at this time.

Wow good catch!

Except for culling. I know it's an option that some use, but not for me.
I have a VERY crossed beaked chicken. she is 3yrs. and does well you need to always have a deep dish for her to eat out of, they eat more with the tongue. I do not trim the beak, she can get worms and bugs but usually

Glad you were up, Sam!

I clean the coop almost every day. Dustpan and spatula and clean under the roosts. I don't have the smell. Just add shavings as needed. Realize some of you work and can't clean every day. Oh, the joys of retirement!

Enjoy you day....

He did this one other time... but caught one of his own pines, next to mine on fire, this was last summer when it was so hot and dry. He is an old dude that just charges away with what he wants to do, and not thinking about what could happen.
Wait, an adult set fire to your lot? I thought at first it was kids, which is bad enough, but kids can sometimes lack good judgement, lol. But a grown man? Crazy. Who does this stuff?

does tsc carry french copper maran chicks because these look like those also.
Pretty sure Michigan TSCs get their birds from Townline - they don't have Marans there. :)
I know. Except SO won't. We have had a discussion about it since she was first causing issues with my autistic son. She was being sarcastic and I kept talking to her about it and she would not stop.

OK, this should have been the last straw. If she is not being respectful to your KIDS, she does not deserve to be in your house. ASD is hard enough to handle without unsupportive jerkfaces taking advantage of you and causing more problems. Dude, I'm all angry for you. lol

If my DH ever defended another woman, friend or not, over what goes on in our house hold or she did not respect me enough to knock it the H*** off in regards to my kids, he'd be needing to make a few choices!!
YES. This X1000.

Eek! Glad you found it!

Thanks, snowflake! It's good to read about older chickens. The cross beak thread has chicks dying on just about every page.
