Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It is nice to know that people care about me.  Thank you all.

I'm just back from the courthouse.

The sentence is:
30 days in jail
6 months of reporting to probation
$905 in fines
Pay for the court appointed attorney
Comply with all city ordinances.

But the judge was "nice" and suspended the jail time. However, if I fail on any of the above details I will be thrown in jail. And since there are more ordinance violations next week that pretty much assures that I'm breaking the last condition.

That is pure madness. I just can't believe it. This makes my blood boil. I think you should be screaming your story from the rooftops. It should be on the news because people need to see what kind of lunacy has taken over in our courts.

"What are you in for?" "Keeping chickens" sounds so ludicrous. Thoughts are with you RaZ.

Raz, so sorry for this outcome; sounds crazy to me! Any chance of publicity helping? The news? ACLU? Local slow foods movement? Too many people think that food grows in styrofoam in the supermarket. Mary

Yesterday evening we took a family walk out through the back pastures, through the woods and to the bean field. DH was looking for signs of game and DD was picking flowers. I was noticing how many spiders were in the grass. So. Many. Spiders. Yuck. I said to DH "look at all of them! There are thousands of spiders, it's like a horror movie!"
He replies "maybe you should get some guineas"
When I bring some home I'll remind him that it was his idea.

I moved my broody to the kennel last night and she's still sitting right on her eggs!! Woo hoo! Going to swap them for my blrws and hopefully have some beautiful babies hatch out this weekend!!! I am beyond thrilled about this.
Good luck!
Hope they don't put RaZ in jail. I mean, he shouldn't be allowed to walk the streets. He's a bad man, keeping chickens. How dare he?? We're all thinking about you, RaZ. Hope it's not too bad.

Enjoy your day..........
Yes, didn't you know chicken owners are dangerous

Ugh, Raz. I've been checking in all day to get an update on you. While I'm glad you aren't in jail, I'm really bummed for you and frustrated too. It's madness!
