Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I seem to be having some issues with my printer.
I wanted to give a simple overview/seminar of attaining MAEAP verification along with some hand-outs for the information.

I'll keep trying to get something printed. If nothing else, I have physical props that demonstrate what you need. Please bear with me.

RaZ I also have a EZUP but I don't really know where it is. I will look.

Nag lady- yep. Those actually are 2 boys... So really they shouldn't go together. The one in the rear is a Khaki Campbell cross and he is 2 wks younger than the one in the front. The front guy is a Fawn and White Indian Runner. Just starting to get his drake feather at probly 11 or 12 wks old now. (I lost my old calendar where I counted how old they were, sorry! But I got him as a tiny duckling from FFH the week or 2 weeks after Easter). I'd like $15 for the Runner and I will negotiate on the mixed breed drake. Ducks being social animals, I think any duck would be happier with a friend than alone. That being said, all ducks (mine anyway) seem to have their own personalities and quirks, so adding to any flock should require care and time and observation. I really think this guy being young shouldn't have any issues getting along with one other duck. In fact, I think I'd worry only that he'd be picked on. Really mild and friendly (for a Runner). Don't forget, I also have a pair of Pekin ducks that will start laying probly this Fall. (The Pekins are both female, 2 weeks older than the Runner, and I'm asking $30 for the pair). All the ducks are used to free range during daylight and being penned at night. I'm in Western Genesee Co but I plan to be at CS tomorrow. At this time I am not planning on bringing any birds unless someone contacts me and says they definitely want them.

I talked to the people up at Family Farm and Home who have chickens, ducks, etc. (I was looking for a young turkey poult to put with the Welsummers to help build immunity to Mareks - even if that isn't what the lot of marans has) and one of the employees asked if they've been working the fields anywhere around me. I just had my hay baled, but my field isn't sprayed. The several hundred acres behind me was just worked up but I don't know if it was sprayed. The field across the street from me (again several hundred acres) was just worked as well. has anyone else ever had any issues with this? It seems like if it was that, my older birds would be affected, too, not just my young ones . . .

We just decided that we're packing up the 2 kids and 2 birds to head to Lansing tomorrow. I think we're bringing a grape salad thing. See some of you tomorrow!

Nag lady- I'm in W Genesee co... It's really easy for me to meet in Fenton area, Owosso or Swartz Creek. Or we can work something else out. I just realized you are Northern... Sometimes I make it to Tawas or are you further North than that?

Well, the cake is a no go. I am stuck with the fruit, and will soon be on the look out for a new oven... I made the batter, panned it and set it in the oven... oven took a crap, tripped the circuit and is now dead. Half baked cake.... Really bummed, because it was a keylime batter. Yum... well.. not now... but...
