Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

In my life experience, I've found that you need to help yourself first so you are strong enough to help others.
And the best "payback" is living well.
That may work on EX s raz, but when it comes to az hole neighbors, they need a little taste of their own medicine.

Revenge is good. I tend to stew over things but I do have a breaking point and when I reach it watch out. May take me a while but eventually I ll get ya in the end.

Opa...garden is gorgeous. Once again, I find it interesting that I got over an hour of rain yesterday afternoon & you got none! Hopefully, today I will get some outside work done. The weeds are overtaking the garden & I swear the grass has grown a foot+ in a week.

Hope everyone has a great day....dry for some of us & rainy for those of you that actually need some :)

Raz, did you forget to get a couch moving permit?

Well I was so busy herding the goats that I forgot to apply.
sad people have nothing better to do You seem to be their entertainment

I agree about the revenge. When I had those kind of neighbors, that's what I did just to show them where they had room to improve too (putting it nicely). Turns out that maybe my yard didn't look like a golf course, sure, but they burned grass clippings so guess what? I called the fire dept., caught them in the act and they were made to extinguish it and paid a fine - not to mention the sheer embarrassment of having the fire dept. in full gear in their driveway. They were PO'ed and stepped up their attacks, absolutely, but at least I had that moment and they knew I did. I NEEDED that moment. It's the only thing that got me through living at that house. Nasty old biddy, she was. Heck she was calling the township on me after we moved. I got certified letters in the mail up here in GR telling me I had to clean up my yard in Samaria. A special kind of stupid, those two - especially her.

Sorry to hear about the goat :( Hope she recovers okay.

That moment when you realize your new Aracauna Bantam is going to cost $150...? My advice to the people on BYC do not get hooked on Aracaunas they are beautiful and incredible little birds but they are EXPENSIVE and hard to breed

In my neck of the woods there's an auction every Saturday in Ravenna at noon.  They auction junk, rabbits, chickens, and other birds.
hmmmm funny how my Grand champion Brahma who was my best breeding room and a singular Aracauna I had came from Ravennna....usually they do have crap however haha

So far the day is shaping up to be a good one. The one thing I absolutely want each morning is a pulse and today I checked and it was there. I decided a long time a good that as long as that requirement was met then it was pretty much up to me what kind of day I would have. There aren't any bad days only bad attitudes.

I've eaten breakfast, worked 3 crossword puzzles, taken country ribs out of the freezer for today's dinner, and now I'm just waiting for time to pass so that I can take Granny to church. Then I will come home and finish the lawn trimming and working in the garden.

I've got to start watching my hens to decide which ones I will be eliminating from the layer flock. That's always a difficult task. I hate to get rid of that hen because I like her colors, or it's a shame to kill that real friendly one. The reasons to not cull them could be endless but it's not good economics to keep birds that have passed their high egg production years. One possibility is some friends of David's lost their entire flock and they had asked him if I had any extra birds.
