VERY COOL
BLUEBERRY AND ROOSTER ARE VERY NICE LOOKING BIRDS,

those aren't fart eggs... they're more of just a ppffffffft!

Ok... probably not gonna be a popular response... but, it may be prudent to keep your own birds in your yard, to limit the temptation of your roo becoming injured or mean by your neighbors kid. Reduces conflict and will protect your birds in the long run.

Actually, I was talking to John about it too right as it happened, and I said I think I will go ahead and put the fencing back up. I took it down to open up my back yard to them more and keep them out of Mrs. Browns. Carl and Earlene, they're great. Just that jerk face kid of theirs. I am sure Carl just did the auto response of protecting his kid when I yelled out at him to not kick my rooster... But heck with it. I'd rather re'run a fence down my property line, and have it go all the way back to the trees then run it along that line. Yes, it'll be more of a pain for me to go into my woods, but I don't have to worry about his glass hat kid either.

SO, no, your response is spot on. The down fall of this though... some of his BSL/RSL's are laying... in MY nests. LOL Hey... they are paying for their meal... LOL

I need a bit of non chicken related advise. Apparently this has been the year of the ear infection. I know some many people who've had ear issues, even people who hardly ever have ear problems. I've only had one ear infection before that I can remember (many years ago), and my mother said as a child, I never had them.

Sunday I went to a walk in clinic (my regular doctor obviously wasn't available). I had a nagging ear pain. Doc took a look, and saw it was a middle ear infection. So I was sent on my way antibiotics (a Zpack, azithromycin). Monday, the pain was the same. Work sucked. Every time did a transfer assist or anything with lifting (I'm a CNA, and it can be very physical), my ear throbbed. But I sucked it up, and was glad when it was done, crawled in bed as soon as I got home.

Today, my eardrum ruptured. I woke up with ooze coming out of my ear. I got an appointment with my normal doctor as soon as I could, and she confirmed that it was ruptured and not looking good. So she gave me different meds, stronger ones And it hurts so bad. Like I'm being stabbed in the ear, constant throbbing that radiates down to my jaw. I feel awful, all feverish now. I hope the meds start working, soon.

I don't know what I'm going to do if this doesn't begin to resolve by the 4th of July. I am scheduled to work then, and I really, really want the time and a half that goes along with it. I want to work, because I don't even like to go to parties or cookouts, or whatever! I feel like I might get in trouble if I call it, that they'll think I am really going to party or something. I don't want to get written up because I am legitimately feeling bad. Do you all think I should load up on Tylenol and ibuprofen if it isn't better by the 4th, and gut it out? Or call in?

never had one, but health comes first. ALWAYS. I've only put jobs/ money first a few times, and now i'm paying for it with a sore back at (almost) 35. :(

Idk about your "home" but ours is full of really potent sicknesses, and if you go in there already wore down and sick you are risking yourself. But you need/ want the money, ......... Immunity boosters? Kefir for the probiotics, a vitamin specifically for stress, or with herbal immunity boosters, and the only other thing i can think of at the moment is a tea i get at the store i think by celestial seasonings that is specifically for stress, and has something called "eulethro" in it aka siberian ginsing, which is a potent immunity booster. I did all these and used the "alive" vitamin at meijers and beat some kind of bug just this weekend! It was a scare for me since we have viral pink eye/ adenoid virus going around :(

I hope you feel better soon! Being sick sucks.

Oh, and bring your dr's slip in now, so they KNOW you're not full of bologna. Let the other girls know you're up in the air, so they can take dibs on the money if need be. At least talking about it now you will find out for sure if you will be wrote up; but if it's infectious at all you may be able to use that to trump any write-ups, especially if you let them know ahead and show up at least on the day with the no-work slip from your dr/ or get sent home from one of the nurses.

uchytil... I called a dealership about the jeep. Explained what's been happening.. They suggested I start the jeep up, take a rolled up newspaper and stick it in the fan and see what happens. I have a clutch fan in that, and they are thinking that even though it is a free spinning on the drive belt, it's not working properly. SO... going to do that when it's not raining. If that's not the problem, they'll set me an appt to bring the beast of money suck in... Joy.

I've never ruptured, but i have had both ear and throat infections that nearly ended up causing deafness. I can empathize with your pain.

As for what should you do, what did your doctor recommend? I was on darvocet for the pain of my tonsils crushing my ear canals, tried to work, and they sent me home because customers thought I needed am ambulance. (Cashier at the time)

If your supervisor knows you well enough, and you cannot function, you shouldn't have a problem. He/she should know that you want to work but just are not able due to illness. Especially if you are feverish and working in the health industry.
