Chlorohexedine is better than the iodine, from what I have been reading. The vet gave me the chlorohexedine to use on Whispers. You have to dilute it to light color for the cleansing. Also, I forgot to mention I used the Vetericyn Wound & Infection Care. I would spray that on her wounds also.Clorohexedine, does that have the same effect as iodine? Thanks for the info. Great reference.
Poor girl! Glad she is ok!!!I was gathering some salad greens for the girls and when i got up to the fence this is what i saw..she was hanging there feet off the ground, hooked under her beak in the soft skin. I hurried and got the camera because how do you describe this.. and then took the picture released her and she is fine, one drop of blood, but acting fine.. will keep a eye on here.. hindsite i should of got her down and not take the picture.. that hook is coming off there.. she must of tried to fly in the coop and missed and slid down the rail.. she sure is lucky.. could of been alot worse. Scared the crap out of me..poor girl..![]()
Oh, the poor baby! Kinda funny since we all know she is ok, but, phew...that coulda been a disaster ! She probably couldn't do that again if she tried, but agree, hook has got to go. You're right, nothing but a pic could describe THAT situationI was gathering some salad greens for the girls and when i got up to the fence this is what i saw..she was hanging there feet off the ground, hooked under her beak in the soft skin. Bee Balm is good too for attracting the butterflies and hummingbirds.Butterfly Bushes are great for feeding not only Butterflys but also Hummingbirds , its a constant show from July right up to frost. They have big clusters from blue to almost red, and have a LOT of clusters. If they are well fed they get big, I have seen them 12' high. I have three here, new ones, and next year will add more. They are big enough that several Hummingbirds can feed without aerial battles. And I see the rarest of our Butterflys besides the old favorites.
Its good to be back Candy ! Hard to keep up with all of the posts though, but will try.
