any way you can run and extension cord?

We tried that last year, but the only place we can run an extension cord from is the garage, and doing that would put the extension cord right over our gravel driveway. So if anyone were to drive over the cord, it would shred it. We thought of burying it, but we rent our property and I don't think our landlord would be very happy if we dug up the driveway.

The rubber don't store cold like metal or plastic does, and when it does freeze you just pick it up and squish the dish and it comes right out. The bigger size keeps more water, the little bit of warmth from the chickens keeps it warm longer. Double dishing keeps the bottom from touching anything cold and creates an air pocket (trapping what little heat there is)

I did this last winter, started out with a heat loop but by the end of winter was down to no electric. It had to be in the 20's before it froze! AS LONG AS i changed the water in the afternoon with lukewarm water. If i tried to not change out the water it was just cold enough to freeze good overnight.
