Hey Nova, or anyone, I've been administering tylan 50 orally as some sort of respitory infection is going through my flock. I'm doing .5 for five days and it seems to be working quite well. My question is how much do you give a banty? It seems like it should be less but maybe I'm wrong? She's got no symptoms this is just for future reference. Thanks!

I see you got my reply on your first post! Welcome and you have a nice looking flock. The thread moves fast and has a lot of activity!
As far as the dog... DH said no, we have enough dogs....I'm saddened because I've always wanted a dane and rarely see them (in this good condition) pass through the shelter. I will try again when DH comes home from a business trip tomorrow. He doesn't know it's a Dane either.... We already have 4 mastiffs so, we really do have enough dogs, though two are very old and won't be with us much longer.. Plus, I have to fork out 400$ for adoption fee ... not that easy to pull the cash without being noticed! LOL!

Ok... SO I went to TSC to get some pine and as always, had to take a mosey on through that back isle to see what was clearence. Picked up a 6x6x8high green house! Yeah, the $200 one for $89. It would be my guess that ya'll know exactly what I am going to do with it. Will have to make a latchable people door for it though. LOL. Now the question is... is it for the marans, or the phoenix... decisions...

SILLY! Quick question for you. How are you keeping your phoenix/yoko and yoko for the winter? Nearly everyone I have talked to has said that I should consider a heat source for them, especially since it will be just the two boys, separated by plastic poultry net, together in their coop for the winter, so... I could put them in the garage, but then I have to make pens in there, but I have a crap load of PVC that I took off the hoop roof when I replaced with wood, so making pen frames, no biggy. Will be putting the pullets in with the jap bants, since they've grown together all this time anyway.

Zombie chicken. That story is going to haunt me for the rest of my life. I'll admit to trying to whack one over the head once, before putting into the cone but it just looked at me as if to say "excuse me but THAT HURT!" So I gave up and put it in the cone. Finally got a new camera. Nothing fancy but the important thing is that it's a Sony because they fit my old Konica Minolta lenses. So it's the best of the entry level Sony DSLR's, A65. I was impressed with its low light capabilities. Couldn't have taken a photo like these with my old camera in the cave that is our barn, not without a lot of graininess. I sacrifice a bit of depth of field but I'm not complaining. The camera makes it easy to keep that focus where you want it. I'm whole again. Wheaten Marans rooster Buff Brahma pullet, Poppy
