Man, they really have it in for you!!! There has to be something you can do!
They sure don't like the publicity. That is why I continue to publish this nonsense
There is something that I can do and I am doing it.

Dark feathers, boy. Light feathers, girl
That is what I suspected but refused to believe. They are both girls. Girls I tell ya!

RaZ... Shaking my head. What a blatant abuse of power!
I agree. But a bully will get his come-uppance.

Well cousin... Now I know what you do in your bored down time... Penning racy (pervert!) books. Lol I don't remember what you started either...

LOL!

I am finally selling out of eggs. been selling 4 and 5 doz at a time.. selling at $2.00 a doz.. wondering if i am selling to cheap. but glad i am making sells.

i am down to tiny eggs for the family already..

I sell for $2 a dozen from home and if I go to the farmers market $3. We end up with all the bantam eggs here too. DH makes pickled eggs and I don't mind using them for baking.

I am in my blind! Let bow season begin!

Good luck on the venison.

Raz - i agree with nova - 1 boy 1 girl, and so cute! If you don't already, you should start a facebook page - not just for yourself but a group. No cost and really gets the word out easy. All it takes is a few shares and tons of people know what's going on. You can also post pictures like you took.

I am getting $4/doz at work, but am sure that is cuz I am selling to "city people", some of whom were paying $6/doz at places like Trader Joes & Salvaggio's.

No luck on venison last night. A nice doe showed up this morning, but she has a young 'un, so I just watched them eat while the sun was rising ...

And the little one is back again (8:40a)....total piglet! :D

Someone asked recently about a coop cam...
I have a game can that I picked up at Menard's for around $60. Wildgame Innovations is the brand.

I bought the lowest price one (~$60), it works day and/or night, can shoot still hi-res photos or video. The sequence of still shots can be programmed form 15 seconds to 2 minute delays.
I checked it this afternoon and found that the city has once again visited my property. That explains why my gate was left open and unlatched. They always seem to come by when I am not home. Wonder why?

See the orange truck to the right?
Anywho, this is the medium resolution setting.

to bad you didn't catch a pic of the person coming up drive, o better yet looking around back yard
good price on game cam,

That would be awesome to get more then $2. a doz, but unfortunately in a small town, i would be sitting on my eggs.. I did get $3. each last week when i delivered 5 doz.. 2 miles from home. the person volunteered the extra dollars.

I only got 8 eggs yesturday.. my average is 12-15.. now i am wondering do i need to get a light out there for early morning hrs.. it is fall.. last year i had the light on a timer and would be on from 5am-9am. seemed to work out pretty good.. thinking need to run my long cord out to coop today.

has anyone else started lighting in the coop yet..

Sept 29th was my one year anniversary for having chickens.. we had one hen given to us, and i had to hurry up and build a coop.. and that was the beginning of my chicken adventure.. start with one, end up with 21..a yr later.

Yep. Pretty much no way I would get $4/doz here where I live.

So, totally newbie to chickens, but my girls all seemed to take a break the other day (I think iamfive mentioned the same thing). Been averaging 8-10/day with 10 layers. Only got 5 that day. Next day & since, back to normal.
Don't think I will be adding any additional light during winter....but haven't totally decided yet. Still reviewing people's opinions on the pros & cons.....
