Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

MRSA isn't anything to fool with, that's for sure! Definitely don't skimp on the treatments because it's antibiotic resistant. Just one of the nasty things hospitals now carry in there unfortunately.

Glad they caught it in time and you will hopefully really and truly be on the mend now!

It has been raining steadily here for the last 6 hours, over 3" so far, thunder but no tornadoes and the wind has not picked up yet. Fortunately it is still quite warm out. Hope everyone in the storms zones has weathered it safely.

MRSA - ugh. So sorry Opa.

Sorry to hear about the MRSA, Opa, Get Well Soon!

Hope everyone is safe after all the storms!

Coop. Still needs some touch up on the edges and flashing, siding and paint.

Love Gollum!
Beautiful rainbow. I love your coop, any inside pictures?

This certainly has been a day of challenges. The morning's started at 8am with the doctor's physician's assistant calling to tell me that the antibiotics they have me on aren't going to work and that I needed to go the the hospital emergency care to be given an IV administered antibiotic. It seems the post operative staph infection I have is a drug resistant and potentially life threatening strain referred to as MERSA. Needless to say lying in a hospital with a IV inserted in my arm wasn't how I had thought I would be spending my morning. A mere 4 hours later I was back home and finishing my crosswords.

Since I have a newly opened wound in my arm, my family has decided that I am not allowed in the chicken coop for the immediate future. So when the weather alert indicated strong storms were headed our way Hope ran out and gathered eggs. She had just gotten inside when the clouds opened up. Now the storm has past and calm has once again returned.

If you think about it, if also how life happens. So when we face each storm in our live we need to remember the calm will always return.
Take care of yourself. Hope the IV did the trick.

Wicked storms here Dorothy! (Between the fronts)
That's a postcard picture, lovely.

Opa, get well soon! Take care of yourself and get all the treatments needed. Ugh!!! Welcome to the new folks; build a big coop and try several interesting breeds, then you can pick your favorites. Lots of help here, so ask away. Love brussel sprouts, but I'm still laughing over the nasty hateful jokes about them. Too funny!!! We know that Gollum wouldn't touch one with a ten foot pole; more for the rest of us. Love the new coop! Roofing is NOT my thing at all, great work. We've been replacing a line of horse fencing here, but not today. What weather! No tornados here at least. Mary

With the wind still blowing as hard as it is hunting today will be anything but easy. I know in my woods the deer won't be moving and with the number of dead trees from the ash borer invasion, I'd be worried about being hit by falling branches. So those of you hunting today be careful.

Obviously with darkness still upon us I can access how much damage, if any, the high winds have wrecked, but since I still have a roof over my head it can't be to bad. All you need do is look to the states to our south and you can see just how fortunate we were to have only had strong wind and no tornadoes. Having your home destroyed and everything you own carried off by the swirling wind is almost unimaginable. Whole neighborhoods are just flattened.

When you look at what those folks are now facing our little woes pale by comparison. I know that I will be giving thanks for my good fortunes and praying for the less fortunate.
