I was thinking something along the lines of a gouda (or other cheese) mashed potato and seared tenderloin with a portabello wine sauce......hmmmmmmm. decisions decisions.

oh YUM! I actually had venison vegetable barley soup that I canned for lunch yesterday! One of my absolute FAVORITES!
Om gosh, I 4got I had that recipe you gave me,. I know what I'm makin this weekend now. Might sound weird, but I have never bought barley b4. Is it in with the bags of beans or is it more like a pasta? All of the cooking n baking I've done, I can't believe I've never bought this item for something. Thanks

Glad, congratulations on the deer!

I have only gotten one deer with my bow, though I rarely get out with it. I won't use it unless I can practice with it... and well....... ain't nobody got time for dat!

It's taken me a while to learn this..took an abusive ex ..to get my head on straight. I guess with age does come wisdom though it's been slow in coming to me! LOL! But here it goes...

NO ONE can define who you are, or what your value in this world is, or is required to make you happy...NO ONE, but YOU can do this. It's is one of the finest gifts you can give yourself. We all have flaws, we all have perfections. Accept them as part of who you are. Change what you don't like about yourself, enhance what you do like about yourself. You are the one in control of ALL of it.. no one else.

If someone cannot accept me for my flaws or perfections they are not worthy of my time, simple. I will not allow myself to be affected by how someone else perceives or treats me. I am the one in control over how I'm affected by others. It is not my job to make anyone happy but me. That may sound selfish, but it's not my DH's job to make me happy, it's my responsibility. Same goes for him, or you! If I were to depend on anyone else to make me happy or justify my existence, I'd never be happy. This is your life.....LIVE IT!

all/almost all of that, sounds wonderful. However you wish to look at it, we are all judged by our reps and those are how others perceive us. Not all of us are able or desireous of accepting your stated premises as our way of living life. I know I feel better when I can make life better for others (make someone happy) etc. Trite ? I think not. Do you recall the tirades about tatts awhile back? Perceptions count, for good or bad, no matter how wrong they are.

I'm not tryin to put your statement down.

Doesn't opa feed his birds the hard fat off the deer he gets? Can anyone elaborate on that? I'm going to be skinning and quartering today. Don't want to leave her out where the coyotes might get bold enough to steal my dinner.

See below

I do often save the hard fat from deer to feed to my birds. I also have given them the entire carcass to pick clean. Once you have observed them feasting you make doubly sure not to fall down.

One question you should ask yourself is how old would you be if you didn't know how old you are.
Nother question occurs: How old would you be if you could change to any age other than your current one?

Along these lines: I made some Morning glory muffins yesterday from a receipt found on line. Pretty good.

Sad note: Had to have Kipper dog put down, after a couple of not so good years, there was nothing that could be done to keep his life decent. We adopted him at two years. Lived for six more.

He is missed......

If only all,of life's decisions were of this calibre!! Can I do the wine sauce minus 'shrooms? Lol!

Pearl barley will be in the section with rices, dried beans, etc. Remember, get the PEARL barley, NOT quick barley!

@BobBry

So sorry about Kipper :(
