I have 3 silver laced hens and a roo that are a year old that I wouldn't mind moving on, just not interested in them wanting to move them to make room for something else. if your interested i can take some pictures of them.

OK, so having to call into work really sucks. Why? Because they inevitably start the guilt trip.

I complained once about a place I worked giving me a guilt trip about calling in ( first time in 4 years) and they told me that they depended on the people who never called in. I can understand that, but it still seems backwards to me, they should be giving the hard time to those who call in frequently.

Opa- I got 200 gallons of propane last week. It was almost $900. so if your farmer friend can avoid that, he'll be much better off. I have been giving wood away most of the winter, I have no woodburner. And you can count my hand as raised too. I'M READY FOR SPRING

Hi everyone! I'll be picking up three chicks next month. One thing I need help with is finding a veterinarian that treats chickens. I live in Metro Detroit. Of course, I hope I won't need it, but I'd rather be prepared and have a number ready. Thanks for your help!

Calling in sick. I have a rule, if I'm running a fever, I call in. I am lucky that my office has point blank told us, if you are sick, stay home & don't spread your "disease". However, having an office job is quite different than some other types & a lot of I / we do can be done from home. Last Feb I got that awful flu & there was something that HAD to be done that week..and only I knew how & could access the site to get it done. Simply laid on the couch in my PJs & did it. I am a firm believer in people staying home when they are sick, it is the only way to help prevent the spread of "stuff"...and, as a manager only start to question people when I see a pattern of calling in consistently on Mondays/Fridays/day after a Holiday, etc.
So, I agree. A business (especially those where close contact with others is required) should NOT be giving a hard time to their employees that virtually NEVER call in. They should be trusted &, if anything they should send them flowers & tell 'em "stay home, & home ya feel better soon"!!!!

Propane. Wow. I had read that there is a severe shortage & that prices had shot up to $4-5/gallon. Never have I been so glad that my provider had a deal last fall that if you pre-paid for 90% of you average annual usage, you locked in $2.19/gal for the year. We use a wood burner, keep the thermostat 62 & STILL went thru ~1/2 our tank in 33 days (I think that's about 250gal).

OK, so having to call into work really sucks. Why? Because they inevitably start the guilt trip. I don't call in unless I am actually sick (if it were a cough or a sniffle, I'd go and just mask up). And I haven't been sick yet this winter while most of my coworkers have been out for two or three separate incidents. So it isn't like I am one of those who chronically calls in. It makes me ashamed to call in. So you know what? I've spent most of the day feeling like crap because I'm sick, and feeling like crap because I had the audacity to not expose the nursing home residents and coworkers to whatever I'm fighting. I'm almost half expecting one of the nurses or supervisors to visit my home to make sure I am actually sick.

On the plus side, I have a family member to help out with the animals today. I can do animal cares when I'm sick, I just move slower than a lame tortoise

Hope you feel better soon. As you may recall my wife works in that industry as Activities. It's always tough to call in but a must do considering who you're dealing with.

I just bought pine flakes in North Muskegon FFH and there was a full stock. I have to go and get some goat sweet and rabbit feed today. Always something.
