My sister recently moved to Tennessee. She keeps posting pictures and job ads for homes and employment. She keeps posting me pictures of her morning view. Her front windows face the mountains. ANYWAY... How ya'll feel about moving to TN with me, and we'll have snow days over a dusting of snow, or the possibility of snow?

Tell ya what...I really like Huntsville, AL...which is only 1 1/2 hours from Nashville..& I can get a job here easily; property is cheap...it is 58 right now (& pouring rain) & they close down the day before when there is a simple CHANCE of snow!!!

I love it here so much...but, just don't want to leave my family, all,of whom are within about 45mins of me.

I had noticed some changes in Roo the last several weeks, none of them positive, so I have been kind of mentally preparing myself for this. Blackie & Bigboy are the 2 I think do their "job" best (meaning predator warning, making sure all the girls are where they are supposed to be ... I swear, Blackie can count...pointing out treats, etc).

Roo was supposed to be a girl, came from the pullet bin at TSC...he had a sex change at 8 weeks old....

sigh...sorry to hear you have a mean guy.

I hear they can get even more agressive when they near one year old. I have two guys, one is pretty bothersome to ALL the hens, the other is very sweet and minds his own favorites. We will see what happens to Gandalf when the weather is warmer. My "girl" that turned into a roo is a very nice EE and one of our originals. We will continue to keep him, he is showing NO signs of being mean or even trying to bother us.

DH did the same to Roo. Bottom line, I know we have too many roosters for the 11 girls & knew this day was coming. In my heart I also knew that it would be the 2 EE boys that would stay. Roo was just such a wuss for so long, loved to jump on my lap, yada yada...then BAM..evil boy!!!

I worked a contract job in Nashville, I stayed in Brentwood, within walking distance of TDC HQ.
I had my motorcycle and did a lot of riding around the area.
Great people there. I'd move in a New York minute.

Hope you feel better soon. As you may recall my wife works in that industry as Activities. It's always tough to call in but a must do considering who you're dealing with.

It is tough, because you know they need you. But at the same time, it seems wrong to knowingly bring something icky to the residents. Plus, I got dizzy trying to carry in a load of firewood for the wood furnace (which I gave up on doing). If I went in and got dizzy trying to transfer a resident from bed to wheelchair, we both might've gotten hurt.

I complained once about a place I worked giving me a guilt trip about calling in ( first time in 4 years) and they told me that they depended on the people who never called in. I can understand that, but it still seems backwards to me, they should be giving the hard time to those who call in frequently.

Aye, it seems the place does run on the backs of a few people. I've come in early, stayed late, been called in on days I haven't been scheduled to work, etc. Though I'd rather be feeling 100% and at work than buried under blankets feeling like crud.

I LOVE TN. Lived in Knoxville for 5 years. Hardest move I ever had to make. I'd move back there in a heartbeat, but my kids and grandkids are all in the Lansing area, except for my son in Chicago. We try and go back every year for vacation. Love the people there, love the beauty and the weather!
