Speaking of canaries...I'm teaching my parakeets to talk. The first phrase is "I'm a chicken."

I got my buff orpingtons as TSC. I forget if it was at the Whitmore Lake or New Milford location.
I'm also forgetting who took those wonderful birds when the judge branded me a criminal. I'd like to hear how my girls are doing.

I know Hamiltons in Ortonville are scheduled to get some orps in on the week of 3/31, Not sure how far of a drive that would be

Do you know if they have a minimum number? (You rock, btw...Ortonville is an hour and 20 minutes from us...WAAAAY closer!).

I think all you have to do is make a reservation with them. that listing shows how many birds they have ordered for each delivery and you just need to reserve however many you looking for

No lie raz. I had parakeets as a kid and my dad taught it to say "I'm a turkey, quack quack". He also taught it to say "I smell popcorn" and to wolf whistle. When he (the parakeet) got older he would jumble the phrases up. I'm sure you can imagine the great phrases he came up with.

If you mean me :) that's what I wanted...I couldn't get it any lower quantity...Chicken Math! Townline has not minimum, but under 10 you have to take a chance on what is left over after orders are filled that day.

Now that was strange...
I typed the above response and then it disappeared as I was still typing. Then my internet connection went down for about an hour.

Anyway, my point was TSC locations close to Saline area have had BOs in the past and I'm sure that they will this year as well. I know that I'll be checking often.

That's good to know. We watched at the Saline TSC last year, but never saw them. I asked about them this year and they gave me the standard "we don't know what we'll get or when we'll get it". It would be nice if they did something like Hamilton's, which posts what they've already ordered. Thanks for the thoughts!!

You now, I've never been to FFH, but I just saw that there's one in Chelsea. Will be calling them tomorrow to see what's what! :)

Nor have I.
I'd be interested to know what you find out
At 8:00 pm, Calvin was practicing his new found voice. So I go out with fresh water and check on the commotion.
As I open the door to the aviary, both cuckoo Marans canaries rush up for a friendly grope. They were followed by an Amerucana (sp) canary who also did the "sit and purr". Then Calvin, who has been a bit jealous, hops up on my knee. No aggression, just looking for some attention.

The social dynamics are truly amazing to observe and participate in.
