Holy Moly, bee keeping looks downright involved. I may search CL and see if I can find used stuff? A class? I wish I lived near you keepers and I'd cook you some of my famous food (most anything) for some classes, lol!

It's not that bad. It's mostly up-front investment as far as cash for equipment. If you can find used stuff then that's a bonus.

Like any endeavor there is a learning curve for the basics and then you adapt your own style. I'll look for some clubs or classes in your area.

Anyone know where to get a top bar hive in SW MI? My husband wants to start bee keeping but doesn't want to use a traditional hive.
