Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Starting to feel the effects of sleep deprivation. Getting up often at night to check the goat due to kid is making for a tired Stacy! Hopefully she doesn't go too overdue. I am just concerned about frozen kids if they don't get dried off pronto, so I am being a bit of a helicopter parent.

Sorry about the rough winter everyone's having. I've been quietly reading this thread - especially when I feel bad about the subzero temps & snow we've gotten in the Chicago area. It's nice to learn that people can survive in colder/snowier conditions & continue to have their sense of humor. This is our first winter with chickens & these forums have helped our flock survive.

You're in the Chicago area? You had it pretty rough too! I grew up in Chicago and surrounding areas. My son lives near downtown We're all ready for these temps to warm up!

The weather man is reporting that Howell had 7 1/2 inches of snow.  They should have measured it in my yard.  I just came in from snow blowing and I didn't encounter anything less than 12 inches and many places it had drifted au to 30.

Yeah, we had had more than 7.5" in Howell The official for Fowlerville was 10", much closer to reality. I measured a little over 11" in the non-drifted areas.
In fact, the last official report for Howell I saw was 7.5" at 0930...so they missed a few!!!
