Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Just left imlay city Michigan bird swap.
Got 3 mallard juvenile duckies for my pond and some flight netting.

Lots of nasty birds there and roos. Liked lookin at the pigions/doves. Those seem to be the cleanest birds there no matter who was selling. Lots of interesting doves and pigeons.

Got what I was after so I was happy! Lots of folks and overall ejoyed looking.

Hey you!!!

It's funny... I thought the same thing, unfortunately. I wasn't happy with any of the quality so I didn't buy anything. My son, however, couldn't leave without buying two Pekin ducklings and one oft the muscovy hens. She looks good so whew!!!

My daughter was loving all over the bunnies again. She wanted me to ask you if you were going to have any white-spotted Netherland Dwarf babies soon? I tried to explain you just never know what color they will be but ML might have an idea from the parents. Let us know if you do please! She's loving the cashmere AND the Netherland Dwarf. I don't thin the cashmere would be too good for her since I don't think she will keep up on the maintenance.

Have a nice day everyone and (ARGH) stay warm

Just had a litter of netherlands born this week.
3 total.
Looks like 2 siamese and 1 sable or hemi.
Not toally sure as they are just a couple days old but they will be for sale.

@RaZ I'm sorry to read about the insurance. :(

Question for you. If I do cardboard to block the weeds in a semi-defunct flower bed, do I need to lift the bulbs that are there, or can I just slice the cardboard and place around them? Or wait til they're finished and just go over? Thank you.

P.S. I *might* see about 1" of growth at ground level (but zero buds) on my sickly Clematis. Crossing my fingers!

I put my 8 week old girls in their coop (just added an album!) for the first time today...they immediately ran through to their run. I know they will love being outside and in such a perfect sized coop, but this flock mama isn't ready to kick them out of the house!

I'm thinking I will have to bring them back in for the night because I miss their random noises and then let them out first thing tomorrow. OH, but can chicks be out during thunderstorms?!

This is the easter egger that was in the pullet bin, I'm thinking it's a rooster. These 3 i think are pullets and the 2 silver laced wyandottes would not hold still for a good pic. @mindylee -we just got back from the Imlay city bird swap also. I loved the purple/green/white pigeons and I almost got some auracana pullets, but now the new ones are outside, I don't want to start over again. I was hoping to find a black copper maran hen for some deep choco colored eggs, but also wasn't impressed with the selection. Hubby was over looking at the tractors, was to cold, so we left after only 40 mins and I didn't buy anything. :celebrate
The EE looks rooish and for sure the red one is a pullet, but the bottom two are not silver laced Wyandottes. They look like delewares or columbian Wyandottes but the one looks like it has a pea comb in the pic. ?

12 feet wired up on the main run extension today, decided to temporarily wire off the end so they could have some grass to scratch in.
All the babies were out all day in their temp pens today too.

Glad the forecast was wrong about rain all day today......was gorgeous out there.

WZZM 13 has the rain/storms moved out until Monday now. I just make sure the chicks can get out of the wind & the rain.
