RaZ! Happy double nickel dude! And many more!
If I had known that I would live this long I would have taken better care of myself.

Happy Birthday Raz. I just had an early hatch from my incubator full of guinea and pea eggs. 19 days, one of my guinea eggs hatched out a bantam wyandotte. So now I'm going to have one poor lonely chick for a week. I have been turning them extra by hand and didn't notice it was ready a couple of hours ago.

Happy birthday Raz! Lots of great people have a birthday today, my brother, my oldest niece, my youngest great-niece and a friend. And you too! Hope you had a great one!:D

There has been slim pickings on any affordable rent/ buying houses this year. Forced to stay where i am at and keep the birds at a relatives. :(

On the bright side, if things go well i can get my new coop i've been trying to get since spring!!! I am going to try for deeper shade than before, i had good shade but the spot i'm eying is dappled sun at most all day! I am going to do a hardware cloth door and staple mosquito screen in the windows and on the door. Hardware cloth in the windows, too. Mosquitos are stressing my birds out terrible!!!

Hope you had a good one Raz, Happy Birthday.

Lots of happening around here. Perry was sitting on eggs and ended up with ten hatching. Yesterday we came home from town to every bird in the yard and coops doing their alarmed noise. DH took the gun to go check it out. He yelled to me there was a chicken dead on the ground. It was Perry feathers everywhere and no chicks. I went to move her to make sure there weren't chicks under her and she was breathing. Then I almost stepped on a chick hunkered down in the grass. DH checked over Perry while my son and I searched for chicks. We found all ten. Perry has two chunks of flesh gone on her neck and a large spot by her shoulder/wing. I sprayed her with Vetrycin and moved her and the chicks to a small brooder pen that is covered. She seemed a bit better this morning. I'm impressed as she is a first time mom.

Second excitement is we ended up adopting another dog from our local humane society. This time tiny. He's a Chihuahua and 41/2 pounds and 4 months old. He, Thor and Titus get along great. Part of the problem is he doesn't know he's tiny. He went out and tried to play chase with one of our biggest roosters. The rooster didn't know what to think. Thor escape unscathed since he wa faster and the rooster didn't know what to do.
